I scream, you scream, we all scream for Krispy Kreme. The class of 2018 will be selling delicious fresh Krispy Kreme donuts Tuesday the 15th in the commons and the annex before school. For one dollar, you can have a delicious pillow of goodness. Avoid the long lines and get while they are fresh!
This year Me2We has decided to spread the holiday spirit with candy canes! During A and B lunch the next two weeks Me2We will be selling candy canes with a note to be delivered to your friends or that special someone. Each candy cane is a dollar, all proceeds going toward building a school in Tanzania.
Juniors and Seniors- Greenville College will be visiting SHS Tomorrow, Dec. 15 at 12:30. Please see Mr. Kyes or Mrs. Kontio for a pass.
A new Deli is opening on the west side of town close to Office Max and they are hiring. If you are interested in applying pick up an application from Mrs. Devlin in room 110 before school. They plan to hire all of their employees by Dec. 19 so get your app and turn it in quickly.
The SHS After Prom committee is hosting a fundraiser at Chipotle on Tuesday, December 15 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Please mention Springfield High School so the committee can receive a portion of the profits which will go toward the after prom event. Then be sure to save your receipt, put your name on the back of it and bring the receipt to the Main Office on Wednesday, December 16 to be entered in a drawing for some great prizes.
The Speech & Acting Team competed at the Normal Community High Speech Tournament. Congratulations to all who competed. In Varsity, Kiki Frost placed 4th in Dramatic Interpretation and Anna Flinn placed 6th in Impromptu Speaking. In JV, Kiki Frost was JV Champ in Prose, Tom Duerr placed 2nd in Humorous Interpretation, Charley Yockey placed 4th in Extemperaneous Speaking and Erin Gheen placed 8th in Original Oratory. There is a team meeting in Ms. Negele’s room right after school today.
The Senators won again on Saturday! Seniors Sterling Baldwin and Patrick Schoeben went 1 - 2 in the 100 free, and the all senior relay of Sterling, Patrick, Misha Levkovitch, and Josh Moore won the 200 free relay, immediately after Josh won the 500 free. Freshman Drew Harmon won the diving! Sterling also placed second in the 50 free and Patrick was second in the 200 free. Jake Frech and Barrett Kurmann swam personal bests in the 50 free. The Capitol Classic is at Eisenhower next weekend - come out and cheer these boys on!
The Lady Senator basketball team, won their 8th game of the year on Saturday by beating Decatur Eisenhower 72 to 28. SHS was led by Kyra Webster with 14 points, and Sarah Cross and Montshianna Pulliam each chipped in 13. Next up for SHS is a game on Saturday in Lincoln.
