Good morning Springfield High! Today is Thursday, February 11, 2016 where successful Senators follow the classroom and school wide expectations and allow for learning all throughout the building. Thank you for Being A Senator!

Juniors and seniors eligible to apply for NHS this year are posted outside of the main office, 326 and 356. Please check the list and let Mr. Kramer in room 326 know if you intend to apply or not. Applications can be picked up in room 326 and are due by 3:30 P.M. on Friday, February 12.

Attention all current 10th Graders — Please turn in your 11th grade registration forms for the 2016-17 school year by the end of this week (2/12/16) to rm. 104 (Guidance Office). If you need another form, please go to 104 and request one ASAP.

Students, Want to win a prize? Write an essay or do a poster for the African American History Month contests and you might do just that. See the posters in the halls or Mrs. Eslahi in room 254 for more information.

Don't miss your chance to get that special somebody the Valentine Gift of a lifetime! Today is the last day to purchase Carnations during both lunch shifts! If there are extras, they will be sold Friday at lunch. Get em before we run out!

The African American History Month Trivia Contest will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays in February.

Freshmen Students & Parents: There will be a Freshmen Course Planning Session on Tuesday, Feb. 16, 5:30-6:30pm, in the SHS Commons. Please bring a pen or pencil to use as we discuss & plan your classes for the next 3 years. Contact Mr. Williams for any questions.

The SHS Book Fair will be in the library until Friday, February 12. Stop by and see the Spring Selections.

Chick-fil-A is back! Chick-fil-a nuggets will be sold at both lunch shifts Thursday. $4 gets your 8 nuggets and sauce. Chick-fil-a this Thursday.

There will be a mandatory meeting directly after school TODAY, February 11th in room 116 for any girl not in a winter sport that is interested in softball. See Coach Koger if you cannot make it.

Solons -February is “National Heart Month” so let’s support the American Heart Association in fighting heart disease and stroke. On Feb. 19th, the Boys basketball team take on Jacksonville High School in the American Heart Association’s “RED OUT” game of the week. Purchase an American Heart shirt for $10, and get in the game FREE. Shirts will be on sale in the Commons this week…during both lunch shifts.

Read for a Lifetime participants. Please turn in your form to Mrs. Dahmane by Friday. If you did not receive a participant form see Mrs. Dahmane in the library.

Congratulations to the Scarlet line for advancing to the IDTA state competition this Saturday at PCCC. The Scarlet line will be performing at 2:37pm. Come out and support our Scarlet line, they were awarded the “Spirit Award and Tiesha Blocker was named a “Rising Star”.

The Lady Senator basketball team came from behind last night and beat SHG 43 to 32. SHS was led in scoring by Sarah Cross with 15 points and Ellie Brandt added 9. Next up for SHS is Senior Night against Rochester tomorrow with the conference title on the line.

Students wear a white shirt to the Girls Basketball game TONIGHT and you’ll get in free. Come out support the girls for senior night.
