This week, Prom tickets will be sold during A and B lunch in the commons area Thursday and Friday. Ticket sales will be every day both lunches the week before Prom. Single tickets are $20 and a couples ticket is $30. Tickets sold at the door will be single tickets only and cost $30.
SENIORS: Frontiers International announces a scholarship for students who will be entering a college or university in the fall and who need assistance with the cost of tuition. The scholarship is paid directly to the school. GPA of "C" or better, demonstrate community involvement, and an essay on why you should be considered for this scholarship. Deadline is May 14. See Mr. Lawson or Mrs. Povse for application.
SENIORS: The Springfield Urban League is offering the following scholarship:
For graduating seniors who have maintained a "C" average during junior and senior years, are accepted to a college or university and who demonstrate financial need. Application, essay, interview (interviews will be held June 2 and 3). Deadline is May 21. See Mr. Lawson or Mrs. Povse for application.
FYI: Senior Meeting tomorrow-caps and gowns will be delivered after the meeting.
Seniors and early grads, please make sure all lost book fines are paid and all library books are returned by Cap and Gown day. Mrs. Dahmane sends a big thanks to all seniors for doing this.
Attention Seniors! There is a Senior Trip to the St Louis Zoo planned for Friday, May 14. You must pay $6 to reserve your spot. We are only taking the first 80 seniors, so sign up in the commons during lunch!
JUNIORS: An informational presentation on Princeton University will be held Saturday, May 15 from 2-4 at Walter Payton College Preparatory High School in Chicago. See Mrs. Povse in Guidance for additional information.
Attention SHS: Auditions for choir at Springfield High start Today after school. You may audition for our award winning Ladies Show Choir, Scarlet Harmony and of course the Jazz ensemble; Seven and Senators. Please sign up for an audition time on the choir room door and If you have any questions see Ms. Elmore in the choir room. You don't want to miss this great experience!!!
Attention Spanish Club members! Permission slips are now available for the Fund Raising Gracias Lunch at Xochimilco West Sunday, May 16. The permission slip and $2 deposit must be returned to a Spanish teacher by 3:30 tomorrow.

Yearbooks will be distributed Monday, May 17 after school in the commons. If you are unable to pick it up then, we will also have a table set up in the commons during both lunch shifts the rest of the week May 18-21. There are several extra yearbooks we will sell for $55. We will accept cash only.
The SHS boys track and field team competed at the Lanphier Fresh/ Soph invite last night and placed 2nd as a team. Event champions were: Jim Moore in the 3200, Ronte Harris in the 110 Hurdles, and Nathan Hoffman in the 1600. The Varsity team will next compete Friday night at Chatham Glenwood for the conference title!
