Permission forms for anyone bringing a guest to Prom who is not a Springfield High student, are now available in the Main office. Guests must be at least in ninth grade, and not older than 19.

Summer School applications have arrived, and they can be picked up in the Guidance Office or Main Office.

Seniors: The following scholarships are available from Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority
Georgia Pillow Rountree Scholarship awarded to a student who will attend a historically black college or university;
Alma Taylor Jones Scholarship is awarded to a student who is majoring in education and plans to teach as a career;
General Scholarship-awarded to student(s) based on the discretion of the scholarship committee and based on availability of overall scholarship funds. Essay and 2 letters of recommendation. Deadline is May 10.

SENIORS: Frontiers International announces a scholarship for students who will be entering a college or university in the fall and who need assistance with the cost of tuition. The scholarship is paid directly to the school. GPA of "C" or better, demonstrate community involvement, and an essay on why you should be considered for this scholarship. Deadline is May 14. See Mr. Lawson or Mrs. Povse for application.

SENIORS: The Springfield Urban League is offering the following scholarship:
For graduating seniors who have maintained a "C" average during junior and senior years, are accepted to a college or university and who demonstrate financial need. Application, essay, interview (interviews will be held June 2 and 3). Deadline is May 21. See Mr. Lawson or Mrs. Povse for application.

The annual Student Staff Basketball game will be held today during 7th hour. If you have any questions, please see Miss Maloney.

Orders for Be A Senator shirts will be accepted through tomorrow in room 106.

Tickets are available for the Golden Laurel Awards Ceremony to be held May 12 honoring National Honor Society seniors who will graduate as members of the Class of 2010. You can pick them up for $5 each from the main office, Mrs. Ruedin in Room 360 or Ms. Hubbard in Room 160.

Attention NHS juniors: you will meet the following Wednesday, May 5, to submit your five hours for April. Please meet before school at 7:50, or immediately after school to submit your hours and receive updated information.

Are you interested in photography, graphic design, or web design? Do you want to help run the school's web site? Then join the Webmasters next year. If interested, please see Ms. Fox in room 325.

If you are a Sophomore and have not taken Behind the Wheel, you should see Ms. Dvorak in room 128.

Attention German Club: If you would like to play Dodgeball against Southeast German Club, please stop by in room 250 to sign up. The match will be tonight at 6 PM in the SHS Basketball Gym.

Elvis is in the building this weekend! Our SHS cast will perform ALL SHOOK UP this Friday and Saturday at 7:30 PM and Sunday at 5 PM in the SHS Auditorium. Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens. Tickets are available in the main office and at the door on performance night.

SENIORS! Josten’s will be here tomorrow morning before school from 7:45 – 8:25 AM. Last chance for in school delivery of your items!

German Club Car Wash! This Sunday Volunteers needed for the German Club Car Wash Sunday, May 2nd at the K-Mart on Wabash, 11:00 a.m. — 4:00 p.m.. Sign up in Herr Koeppel's room (# 250) by Friday. If you can't volunteer, stop by on Sunday & get your car washed!

Prom Court nominations will be held on Friday, April 30 during Lunch A and B. Seniors-This will be the ONLY day to nominate your top 8 boys and 8 girls-Voting Ballets will be in the Commons during the lunch hours. Don't Forget !!
The Lady Senators Track Team won the City Track meet title for the 1st time in 28 years last night at Memorial Stadium. Sarah Maxson won the high jump and set a new meet record of 5’7”. Sarah also won the 400. Laurel Neposchlan broke her meet record in winning the pole vault with a vault of 10 feet. Teirani Render was the discus champion. Kirby Hale won the 800 and the 4 x 400 team of Hale, Christina Kropid, Miriam Agamah, and Maxson brought home the team title with their winning effort. The 4 x 100 relay of Lexi Swope, Brytani Cavil, Jessica McCoy, and Charity Newman tied the school record at 49.7 with their second place finish. Great team effort ladies!

Tutoring after school is cancelled for today.
