Update on the Engineering Academy! It has been postponed until January. Here are the new dates:
Jan. 9, 16, 23, 30
Feb. 6
Students will be receiving a letter this week letting them know the new dates.

Does your child consistently excel in class? There is a pivotal meeting in Springfield, December 2nd at 6 PM at 801 N Rutledge, you should attend. An Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy representative will be present to discuss another choice at excellence for high school . Meet area IMSA parents who know what providing better educational opportunities for their kids is al about.

Attention Class of 2012: We will be selling sophomore class t-shirts and sweat pants starting Today, thru Tuesday of next week. T-Shirts are $14 and sweatpants are $17. Orders will be taken in the commons during both lunch shifts. Payment is expected at the time of order. Any questions see Mrs, Davis in room 363 or Ms. Barkmeier in room 370.

Blood Drive on Monday, November 30th, from 9am - 2pm. Students & staff will have an opportunity to donate blood to the Central Illinois Community Blood Center. Students must be 16 or older. Students aged 16 must have a parental consent form signed by a parent or guardian. The sign-up sheet, parental consent form, and information sheet can be found in the Guidance Office. You can sign up during lunch, before school, or after school, and everyone must sign up by 3:30 pm on Wednesday, November 25th. If there are questions, please see Mr. Williams.

Come out and enjoy the SHS Fall Play ‘Flowers For Algernon’ directed by Conor O’Brien and Nick Throop. Friday & Saturday show starts at 7 PM and the Sunday performance is at 2 PM. Tickets are $5 for students and $7 adults. Doors open 30 minutes before showtime.

The yearbook staff is looking for candid pictures for the fresh, soph, junior and senior sections of the yearbook. Please submit pictures to Mrs. Devlin’s mailbox or email them to her ASAP.

Mrs. Povse is looking for students who would like to attend a Pathways to Your Future presentation at Lincoln Land Community College on January 7 from 9:45-12:45. This presentation is geared to career areas that you may be interested in. Stop by Guidance to get a Career Interest Survey and a permission slip. The deadline for sign-up is November 25. Lunch is provided by LLCC.

The next college bus trip is to Eastern Illinois University, Charleston, on December 8. Stop by Guidance to get your permission slip.

Information on spring semester ACT Prep Classes from Better Test Scores can be found in the guidance office.

Attention Sophomores: Mr. Taylor and Mr. Schurman will be taking the first 60 students to sign up to the CACC open house. This open house is for students interested in attending CACC next year. Permission slips are available in Guidance office. The deadline is Friday November 20th.

The SITE club will be meeting Friday after school in the library. We'll discuss volunteering at the Computer Banc and have a touch screen demonstration.

Best Friends November meeting is Friday Nov. 13 afterschool in the commons. The November theme is celebrating Veteran's. Come to celebrate with our Buddies. Your Buddies are counting on seeing you Friday afterschool.

Students who had no dress code referrals for 1st quarter and have not received his/her Be A Senator water bottle, please see Ms. Greco or Mrs. Yoggerst in the cafeteria during both lunch shifts on Thursday and Friday. Thanks for Dressing like a Senator!

On Tuesday, Nov. 24, Josten's will meet with the seniors during periods 2 and 5 to order caps and gowns. The seniors will go to their classes and wait to be called to the auditorium via the intercom. The 5th hour meeting will be for CACC students.
