A scholarship for Seniors majoring in accounting is now available, please see Mr. Lawson.

The Chamber of Commerce is offering a scholarship to Lincoln Land, Robert Morris, Benedictine University, or University of Illinois Springfield. See Mr. Lawson for details.

A representative from Notre Dame will be at St. Thomas More High School in Champaign tonight at 7:00.

There are some wonderful opportunities to volunteer and make your community a better place. Former Franklin Middle School students are especially encouraged to volunteer at your former alma mater Thursday October 29 and Friday October 30, again see the NHS board for contact info and details for the events.

Singers, Dancers, Actors! It’s time for Springfield Idol! Please sign up in the choir room for an audition time. Auditions are today & tomorrow after school. The contest will be held November 19th. There will be cash prizes.

Greater Springfield Area Chamber Workplace skills film project is having an open call for auditions Saturday, November 7th starting at 9 AM until noon at Capital Area Career Center. Actors wanted: 4 lead characters and several support actors are needed. Age of characters are high school seniors, acting experience preferred but not required, all participating actors and members of this project are volunteers and will be named in film credits. Upload a resume of acting experience and why you would like to participate in this film project, along with a personal photo to http://chamberjobvideo.ning.com/ or bring them to the audition. Attention all students who sold Butter Braids. The Butter Braids will be delivered today! You must pick them up after school in the commons. They come frozen and must remain frozen. So, if you have after school activities, you must make arrangements to have someone else pick them up AFTER SCHOOL TODAY!!! If you sold lots, you will need to have someone pick you up. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Vander Leest in Room 510. Thank you to everyone who participated.

PIZZA! PIZZA! PIZZA!.Be a Senator is selling Papa John's this Thursday during both lunch shifts. The cost is $2 a slice. Get it while it lasts!

Any freshmen or sophomore - not in a fall sport, interested in playing boys basketball should come to an open gym tomorrow after school in the upstairs gym. Questions see Coach Reed.
Anyone wishing to try-out for boys basketball that is interested in team shoes should come to Coach Reed’s office next to the gym at 8 AM tomorrow morning. There is no obligation to purchase the shoes.

Applications to become a student board member are now available in the main office. Requirements are: be a junior, grade point average of 2.0 or higher, submit a biographical sketch (double-spaced) outlining the student’s abilities, goals, and reason why he/she would be a good choice as a Student Board Member. Provide two written references: from teachers, school administrators or form community members.

Dodgeball forms are available in the main office for the 1st ever SHS Dodgeball Tournament Friday, November 6. Cost is only $30 for a team of 6 – 8 people. Completed forms should be turned back in to the main office by Wednesday, November 4.

Seniors can pay for their panoramic pictures Today and Tomorrow at lunch.

Only the Junior class, class of 2011, is selling class fleeces! Our first order is going in this Friday. They are $35 and are on display outside of room 210. Order forms were passed out in homeroom, but extras can be picked up in Mrs. Pence’s room, room 210.

Hey, hey JSA! Due to the short week, we will not be having a debate on Wednesday. However, all those attending Fall State should come to a 5 minute informational meeting in Mr. Lightfoot’s room on Wednesday.
