Juniors and Seniors: Check out the bulletin boards in the hallway outside of Guidance for college and scholarship -related information. Check the school website under Guidance for college representative dates and scholarship information.

JUNIORS AND SENIORS: The following college representatives will be in the building to meet with interested students.
Oct. 6 Southeast Missouri State, 9:00
Hannibal La Grange 10:15
Blackburn, 1:30
Oct. 8 Iowa Wesleyan 9:00
Oct. 9 Culver Stockton 10:00
You need a pass to meet with representatives. Please get your pass from Mrs. Povse in the Guidance Office. This is a great opportunity to get information about the colleges in a small group setting where you can get your questions answered.

The senior panoramic picture has been rescheduled for Friday, Oct. 9 (toga day) at 8:40 A.M.

Applications and informational packets are now available in the Guidance Office for the Youth Leadership Saturday Academy and the Illinois Department of Transportation Engineering Saturday Academy. All applications are due, to your guidance dean by Friday, October 9th! Don't miss out on this career exploration event!

This year’s Homecoming tickets will be on sale in the commons on both lunch shifts starting today through Spirit Week. Couples tickets are $15 and Single tickets are $10. You must present your SHS student ID in order to buy a ticket. Hurry and get them now, because all tickets will be $15 per person at the door. Don’t forget, homecoming is on Saturday October 10th, just a few weeks away!

Anyone interested in bass fishing, please see Mr. Dorr.

The Scarlet Line will host is first annual garage sale this Saturday in the commons. Come out October 3 from 9 AM – 1 PM to support your pommers. price after noon.

Time to sign up for the Read for the Lifetime program. All readers will want to know about this fun and rewarding program. See Mrs. Dahmane in the library for details.

The Career Fair will be on Wednesday, October 7, in the Orr Building at the Fairgrounds. The building will open at 12:30. Juniors & Seniors need to pick up a permission slip in the Guidance office and return the slip by Tuesday, October 6th.

Hall Decorating Rules

Use cork strips on hallway walls
May use thumb tacks, push pins, staples on cork strips
ONLY blue painters’ tape may be used. ANY OTHER TAPE will pull paint off the walls.
Last year walls had to be repainted. The cost will come from each grade’s funds if this happens again.
DO NOT TAPE anything on the floors, for safety reasons.

The first college bus trips have been scheduled. Blackburn College, Oct. 27 from 9:00-2:00 and Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, Nov. 5 from 7:00A.M.-5:30. Permission slips are available in the Guidance Office. Grades will be checked before you are allowed to go. These trips do not count against your attendance.
