Attention Juniors - If you want to be pictured in the senior section of next years yearbook you have to have your picture taken by Grussenmeyer/Class Act Photography. They are located at 484 Durkin Drive and can be reached at 787-4947.
All library books are now due. Please return all books as soon as possible. Remember there are no fines if the book is returned, only if the book is lost.
Senators! Don't forget that the 2009 graduation party will be at Baker's Square from 4 - 9 PM on June 7th. $10 of all sales go to district 186. Again, June 7th from 4 - 9 PM. See you there!

Lincoln Magnet School is requesting that if any past students wanting to visit any teachers that they do so on Tuesday between the hours of 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm. No students will be allowed to enter the building on any other day!

Seniors-don't forget to hand in your final transcript envelope addressed to the college you plan to attend in the fall, postage and $1.00- Get those in to the Guidance office ASAP!!
On Thursday, June 4th students will only be able to enter the building through the commons door. The doors will open at 8:00 AM. Students will not be able to enter through the Southeast door, only through the commons door. Students must stay in the commons on Thursday UNLESS they have a pass from a teacher. Again, students will not be allowed in the halls unless they have a pass from a teacher. The commons will be open from 8:00 - 10:00. If a student leaves the commons they will not be allowed back inside. The buses leave at 10:00 AM.
The Boys track and field team finished off one of the best seasons in school history with their 11th place finish at the state track and field meet. Junior Titus Hughes earned all state honors with his 9th place finish in the high jump. Senior Neil Houlihan earned all state honors with his 6th place finish in the 300m hurdles. The 4x100m Relay team of Junior Marquis Robinson, Senior Derek Wilkerson, Senior Neil Houlihan, and Sophmore Jordan Collins earned all state honors with their 5th place finish. Freshman Michael Simon earned all state honors with his 4th place finish in the 1600m run, and the 4x800m relay team of Senior Brandon Stewart, Junior Justin Lee, Senior Brad Walwer, and senior Michael Gambach tied the best finish of a relay in school history and earned all state honors with their second place finish. Congrats on a great season!! Remember to return your uniforms to Coach Cotner after school this week and a reminder that the team banquet is Wednesday night at 7 in the commons. 6 members of the SHS Scholastic Bowl team traveled to Chicago over the weekend to take part in the NAQT High School National Championships. This was Springfield High's first taste of national tournament competition. On Saturday the team consisting of freshman Johnny Smith, and seniors Keith Adkins, Carl Butt, Simon Daniels, Liilian Sherer and Stephanie Wallace went 5 and 5 and missed out on Sunday's playoffs by 1 win. Overall the team finished a respectable 97th place out of the 192 teams in the tournament. Senior Carl Butt was named as an NAQT All-Star as he finished Saturday's play with the 19th highest point total out of more than 1000 players in the tournament. Mr. Adkins wants to thank the team for representing Springfield High so well against some of the nation's best competition.
The SHS Baseball Team saw its season come to an end in a 9 to 2 defeat at the hands of Lincoln. Matt Ruff and Tyler Muncy each hit long homeruns, while Jake Bradshaw had two hits including a double. Daniel Burns added a triple and Brad Defreitas also doubled. Neel Patel pitched 4 and 2/3 innings, allowing only one earned run. The Senators concluded their season with 11 wins. Ruff was a unanimous All- Conference pick and Seth Hale and Bradshaw each earned honorable mention spots.
