Good morning Springfield High! Today is Wednesday, April 27, 2016 where successful Senators follow the classroom and school wide expectations and allow for learning all throughout the building. Thank you for Being A Senator!

Prom tickets will be $35 for a couple and $25 for a single if purchased before the dance. Purchase your tickets during both lunch shifts. Prom is at the Illinois Building at the Fairgrounds on April 30th from 8-11 pm. Any questions see a senior class officer or Mr. Kramer.

Freshmen students who have Ms. Moon or Ms. Negele for literature will take the PARCC test in the commons today, Wednesday and Thursday during periods 1-3 and 5-7. Bring a pencil and headphones.

Achtung German Club! Atencion Spanish Club! We still have a few open spots for our trip to Six Flags on Saturday, May 7. Please see Herrn Koeppel in room 250 or Senor Reichert in room 260 ASAP to sign up with a deposit of $20 if you are interested in coming along.

It’s not too late to purchase your copy of the 2016 Capitoline Yearbook. You can pay 1/2 now and the other when the book arrives the first part of May. See Mrs. Eslahi in room 254 for more details.

Results for the J.D. Sinnock Tennis Tournament SHS Boys placed 2nd out of 16 teams, losing the number 1 spot by only 3 1/2 points. Raj Sinha and Shaul Latif won doubles championship match of No. 2 doubles. Bailey Gill and Moshe Latif placed 2nd at No.1 doubles. Moshe Latif won championship in No. 3 singles. Bailey Gill won in his singles and captured title for No. 4 Tim Hughes and Sean Burke both placed second at No. 5 and No. 6 singles.

All juniors and seniors and their invited guests are welcome to participate in the SHS after prom to be held at SHS in the annex and commons this coming Saturday, April 30. Doors will open at 11:15PM and are closed at 12:30AM. You will not be able to enter after 12:30AM. If you leave the event, you will not be allowed back in. Enter through either side of the annex. Plenty of food, Starbucks coffee bar, and Dairy Queen Dilly Bars will be served. Fun events will be held throughout the night including: a bags tournament (bluetooth speakers to the winning team!), hypnotist, DJ, photo booth, and airbrush tattoos are just a few of the highlights planned. Prizes will be given away all night with the biggest and best given to those who stay until 3AM! Prizes include a 40" high definition smart TV, 2 iPad Mini's with additional software, a GoPro Hero Plus, and a $100 Visa Card. Numerous gift cards for a variety of locations including gas, Starbucks, Chick Filet, and many others will be given away throughout the night. Will YOU be a lucky winner? The Lady Senator Softball team notched their 4th conference win in a row last night in a 9-4 victory over Lanphier. Francesca Trigillo, Veronica Brown, and Elise Caton led the way with two hits a piece. Great job ladies!
