Anyone planning on trying out for the Scarlet Line Poms squad must get all of their paperwork to Miss Povse by this Wednesday, April 22nd.
Attention all 2009-2010 Cheerleaders and 2009-2010 Scarlet Line members!
There will be a mandatory fitting next Monday, April 27th at 3:30 after school in the commons. Following the fitting there will be a mandatory 5:30pm cheerleading meeting. Parents only need to attend the meeting starting at 5:30. Questions see Coach Povse.
Permission Slips for free bowling on Friday, April 24 are now available from the Spanish teachers. Return your form with $2.00 deposit no later than tomorrow.
Attention Seniors: 2009 Prom court nominations will be held at lunch Friday in the Commons. So come nominate 8 guys and 8 girls for Prom court.
The 2009 Senior/Staff basketball game will be held tomorrow during 6th hour. Tickets can be purchased in the commons at lunch this week. Seniors who would like to play in the game can sign up at lunch in the commons.
The Senior Panoramic picture will be Monday, April 27 at 8:30 am. Seniors are to report to first hour for attendance.
The Anime Club will be meeting today in the cafeteria. We will be showing episodes 32 and 33 of Yu Yu Hakusho. Members and Non-Members are welcome, we hope to see you there!
Attention juniors: The SHS PTO "brain food" breakfasts for the PSAE will be held in the cafeteria beginning at 7:45 Thursday morning. PTO is providing bagels, cream cheese, breakfast bars, applesauce, string cheese, and granola bars, along w/milk, juice, and "PTO Spirit Water." PTO will also supply snacks for the breaks today.
You can recognize your favorite teacher for this year's annual Voice Top Teen Nominations. Write a short statement, 100 words, as to why this teacher is your favorite. Springfield High School is proud to present Rodger's and Hammerstein's revered musical "Oklahoma!" Performances are Friday and Saturday, May 1st and 2nd, at 7:30p.m., plus Sunday, May 3rd at 5:00p.m. Ticket prices are $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for students and seniors. Tickets are available at the door or by calling Gabrielle at 525-3100.

Hey Springfield High! The class of 2012 is having a "puppy chow liquidation, every bag must go!" Puppy chow will be sold in the commons on both A & B lunch on April 23, 2009 for $1 a bag.

The Senator softball team takes on Southeast tonight at UIS, trying to rebound from last night's shellacking at the hands of the Titans from Glenwood. First pitch today is at 4:30.
The SHS Baseball Team made a valiant 7th inning comeback, but came up short in a 9 to 7 loss to the Railers of Lincoln. Trailing 9 to 3, the Senators scored 4 runs and had the tying run at second with 2 outs, but fell short in their bid for a tie. Leading the way for the offense were Seth Hale and Matt Ruff with 2 hits and 3 RBI's apiece. Next up is a rematch today at 4:30 at Chamberlain Park.
The Girls soccer team took another step forward to setting up a winner take all conference championship game with Glenwood at the end of the year with an 8 - 0 victory over Lincoln last night. Freshmen Olivia Rosen tied a school record with four assists while also contributing a goal. Additional goals were scored by Jourdan Moultrie, Briana Hickman, Kelsey Slaughter, Kaylee Gaspard, Mada Larson, Sarah Russell, and Bri Whitmore. The girls will travel to Chicago this weekend to participate in the tough Glenbrook South tournament.
