Anyone who received the application for the United Cerebral Palsy summer camps- Applications are due to Mr. Kyes by Friday, May 27.

All of Springfield High School will have an opportunity to support the football program and win some free merchandise as well. Football players will be in their jerseys on Wednesday selling discount cards throughout the building. The cards are $20 and have well over $250 worth of discounts on them. The card also has the varsity schedule on it. Every person who supports the team by purchasing a card will be able to enter into the merchandise raffle. School staff will have the opportunity to win a stadium seat, poncho, or waterproof blanket. Everyone else will have a chance to win multiple dry-fit football shirts. If you would like to support the team find a player in a jersey, purchase a card, and fill out the raffle form. Drawings for prizes will be done on the last day of school.
Congratulations to SHS Varsity Boys tennis team Raj Sinha, Bailey Gill, Moshe and Shaul Latif, Sean Burke, and Tim Hughes for winning the team sectionals title this weekend. Bailey and Moshe won a second straight doubles championship. Raj won the singles championship. Shaul finished fourth place in singles. Congratulations to these boys for moving onto state this week!

The Lady Senators Track and Field team competed at the 3A State Track and Field Champions at Eastern Illinois University this past weekend. Ozzy Erewele placed third in the 100 meter dash with a school record time of 11.94. The 4x100 relay team of Chieme "NaeNae" Udaku, Lauren Ferguson, Kyra Webster, and Ozzy Erewele ran a 48.5 to place fourth. Erewele, Ferguson, Udaku, and Webster earned all state honors. Kyra Webster became the first track and field athlete and the second athlete in SHS school history to earn all state honors four years in a row.
The boys track and field team concluded their season on Friday at the Collinsville Sectional. Two athletes qualified to compete at the state meet in Charleston on Friday and Saturday. Congrats to Jackson Esela in the 3200 and Heath Warren in the 800. Congrats to the boys track team on a phenomenal season!
All boys track team members need to return their uniforms and pick up a banquet form from Coach Cotner by Thursday. Also, please clean out your lockers by Thursday. Anything left in lockers will be thrown away.
