Any Senior who would like to be a Senate Page during the second semester should see Mr. Lawson, Mr. Williams, or Mr. VanDiver ASAP.

Seniors: VOTE TODAY at lunch for your Cap & Gown. Choices are
#1 All Black Gowns with red stole
#2 Boys wear Black Gowns with white stole and Girls wear Red Gowns with white stole.
Voting will be in the commons during both lunch shifts.

Seniors: The time is here to begin the process for applying for the Chase Bank Student of the Year $10,000 scholarship. To get the information and the packet, please attend one of the MANDATORY meetings today in the auditorium, during both A and B lunch shifts or from 3:12- 3:20 after school. Mandatory meeting for $10,000 in the auditorium today, A and B lunch shifts or after school. No late packets will be handed out. If you cannot attend one of the meetings then see Miss Maloney in Room 124 BEFORE the meeting

Seniors: Join Springfield College/Benedictine for a Campus Visit Day this Saturday, Dec. 6 from 9-11:00a.m. R.S.V.P. at 525-1420 or at www.sci.edu

The National Defense Transportation Association of St Louis is offering scholarships to a senior who plans to study business, transportation logistics, and physical distribution please see Mr. Lawson.

Scholarships for Seniors who plan to attend LincolnLand next Fall are now available from Mr. Lawson.

Check the Senior Senator Bulletin Board...These schools are scheduled to visit our school this month: Don't forget: Passes are not required for lunch visits but....You must have a pass from the guidance office to attend the college sessions. The calendar and the posters are on the Senior bulletin board located outside the Guidance office. Listed are dates and times the University or College will be in the building. Please ask Mrs. Sharp in the guidance office for a college pass to attend these sessions!

An organizational meeting for all students interested in forming a Rally for St. Jude will be held on Monday, December 15 in Room 150 at 3:15 pm. Activities will be planned for the week of Feb. 2-6 to raise funds to fight childhood cancer. Join this effort to show that Springfield High School students know how to pay it forward.

Lock-In at the YMCA sponsored by the youth from Springfield & Southeast 21st Century programs this Saturday, December 6 from 9 pm to 6 am. Tickets $10 in advance or $15 at door. Tickets on sale during lunch or see Ms. Johnson in room 160 after school.

Be A Senator is hosting a t-shirt design contest. We are asking you to design a one-sided shirt promoting Be A Senator'! All artwork must be submitted to Ms. Greco in room 256 today. The winner will receive a free t-shirt and $25.

Are you interested in a unique travel opportunity to Ashikaga, Japan June 12-22, 2009? An informational meeting will be at Lincoln Library Tuesday, December 9 at 7 PM or Wednesday, January 21 at 7 PM. Sister Cities Association of Springfield is now accepting applications for the 2009 student delegation. If you are interested in this trip and will be 14 years old by September 1, 2009, Applications are available in the Main office or contact Lisa Groesch for further information: lisar@aol.com or 498-7923. Application deadline is February 28, 2009.

Several SHS students will be performing in the 34th annual performance of The Nutcracker at Sangamon Auditorium next weekend. Shows are at 2:00 pm and 8:00 pm on Saturday, December 6th and again at 2:00 pm on Sunday, December 7th. Come out and support Savannah Brunson, Kathleen Carlson, Gabrielle DeLuna, Lindsay DuBois, Paige Martin and Rose McKenna.

French Club Members- T-shirt order forms are due today. See Mrs. Boltz for details!

Support the Marching Senators Band! Shop at Barnes and Noble this weekend, Saturday & Sunday. On Saturday, band members will perfom. Mr. Carson will help judge the Frappe Fest at 2 on Saturday. At 2 on Sunday, you can participate in the Looney Lyrics contest. Prizes! Fun! See you there!

The yearbook staff will be selling yearbooks during both lunch shifts in the commons on Dec. 15, 16, 17. We will have a list of who already bought a yearbook at this time too. This is your last chance to pre order a yearbook. The cost is $50.00.

The yearbook staff will have the senior signature page available to seniors during lunch in the commons Dec. 15, 16, 17.

Math Club will have its next meeting on Monday, December 8 in Mrs. Pence's room. Come with original and creative ideas for our math club t-shirts! PIZZA will be be served, but you can't eat until you've paid the $10 dues! Remember, Math Club meeting on Monday with your $10 dues!

The SITE club will be meeting after school today in room 216.

Lit Club meeting Tuesday, December 9th in room 362.

There will be an Environmental Club meeting Monday after school in Ms. Vander Leest's room. Everyone is welcome.

Attention students: If you are currently parking in the designated Be A Senator parking spots you will be towed!

German Club is selling Advent Calendar s before and after school in room 262. Please come by and support German Club by buying them for $4 a piece. Be quick, they sell out soon

German Club is showing the movie "Schultze gets the Blues" on Tuesday, December 9 right after school in room 262. Please see Herr Koeppel for the parent permission form.

The word for this week is tantamount (TANT a mount). If you listen carefully, you will hear it used around you in the classroom, the media or at work. Listen up and learn-be word wise!
