Check the Senior Senator Bulletin Board...These schools are scheduled to visit our school this month: Don't forget: Passes are not required for lunch visits but....You must have a pass from the guidance office to attend the college sessions. The calendar and the posters are on the Senior bulletin board located outside the Guidance office. Listed are dates and times the University or College will be in the building. Please ask Mrs. Sharp in the guidance office for a college pass to attend these sessions!

Seniors: The time is here to begin the process for applying for the Chase Bank Student of the Year $10,000 scholarship. To get the information and the packet, please attend one of the MANDATORY meetings on Friday, Dec. 5 at 8:00-8:20 in the auditorium, during both A and B lunch shifts or from 3:12- 3:20 after school. Mandatory meeting for $10,000 in the auditorium on Friday, Dec. 5 at 8:00, A and B lunch shifts or after school. No late packets will be handed out. Be A Senator is hosting a t-shirt design contest. We are asking you to design a one-sided shirt promoting Be A Senator'! All artwork must be submitted to Ms. Greco in room 256 by Friday, December 5th. The winner will receive a free t-shirt and $25.
Are you interested in a unique travel opportunity to Ashikaga, Japan June 12-22, 2009? An informational meeting will be at Lincoln Library Tuesday, December 9 at 7 PM or Wednesday, January 21 at 7 PM. Sister Cities Association of Springfield is now accepting applications for the 2009 student delegation. If you are interested in this trip and will be 14 years old by September 1, 2009, Applications are available in the Main office or contact Lisa Groesch for further information: email@example.com or 498-7923. Several SHS students will be performing in the 34th annual performance of The Nutcracker at Sangamon Auditorium next weekend. Shows are at 2:00 pm and 8:00 pm on Saturday, December 6th and again at 2:00 pm on Sunday, December 7th. Come out and support Savannah Brunson, Kathleen Carlson, Gabrielle DeLuna, Lindsay DuBois, Paige Martin and Rose McKenna.
Representatives from the Board Office and Toastmasters, Inc. will be here on Friday, December 4th to discuss the Youth Leadership Academy. They will be in classrooms and at a table during the lunch hours. Stop by and pick up information and an application!
There will be a Do Something meeting today after school. We will be brainstorming ideas before the holiday season. Please come with ideas and be prepared to volunteer! Don't forget the Do Something meeting today in Huff's room.

Support the Marching Senators Band! Shop at Barnes and Noble this weekend, Saturday & Sunday. On Saturday, band members will perfom. Mr. Carson will help judge the Frappe Fest at 2 on Saturday. At 2 on Sunday, you can participate in the Looney Lyrics contest. Prizes! Fun! See you there!
Lanphier High School is sponsoring an all district college fair this evening, Dec. 2 from 5:30-7:00 in the Lanphier Commons. Over 35 Illinois and Missouri colleges and universities will be in attendance. Dinner will be provided by AAA Insurance.
Attention German Club: We will be having a meeting on Wednesday, December 3 in room 262 right after school. We will be talking about the Christmas party and Advent calendar.

Reminder to all Scholastic Bowl team members that the Knowledge Master Open will be on tomorrow morning in the Ghandi reading room in the library. The event will begin at 8:30, and we will be done sometime during 3rd hour. Please be on time so that we can get started right away. Also, there will be varsity practice tonight and JV practice tomorrow night.
