Attention ALL Students: When the bell rings at 3:10 PM you are to leave the building in a timely manner. If you are waiting for a ride, you are to wait by the doorway where you are to be picked up. NO STUDENTS ARE ALLOWED TO BE ROAMING THE HALLWAYS OR HANGING OUT AFTER SCHOOL IN THE BUILDING! NO EXCEPTIONS!
Attention Sophomores: Mrs. Pohlman and Mr. Schurman will be taking interested students on a visit to the Capital Area Career Center on Dec. 2nd. Permission forms are on the counter in the Guidance Office along with handbooks that describe the programs there. The first 60 students to return their permission forms will be allowed to go. Forms must be turned into the Guidance Office no later than the end of the school day, today.

Juniors and Seniors: Lincoln Land Community College is sponsoring a Career Pathways in early Jan. If you wish to attend, Mrs. Povse needs you to fill out a brief career interest survey before you leave tomorrow. Please see her this afternoon.
Blood Drive today from 9am-2pm Students & staff will have an opportunity to donate blood to the Central Illinois Community Blood Center. If there are questions, please see Mr. Williams.
Be A Senator is hosting a t-shirt design contest. We are asking you to design a one-sided shirt promoting Be A Senator'! All artwork must be submitted to Ms. Greco in room 256 by Friday, December 5th. The winner will receive a free t-shirt and $25.
Are you interested in a unique travel opportunity to Ashikaga, Japan June 12-22, 2009? An informational meeting will be at Lincoln Library today or Tuesday, December 9 at 7 PM. Sister Cities Association of Springfield is now accepting applications for the 2009 student delegation. The word for this week is draconian (dra CONE ian), an adjective that means "extremely harsh, rigid, or severe." It comes from the name of Draco, an ancient Greek statesman who proposed a code of laws that mandated death as punishment for even minor crimes. The Greek root "draco" means "sharp-sighted." In Latin, draco means "dragon."
