If you purchased last years' yearbook you should have received a supplement in homeroom last week. If you did not receive your supplement please see Mrs. Devlin in room 112 before school.

Don't forget: Passes are not required for lunch visits but....You must have a pass from the guidance office to attend the college sessions. The calendar and the posters are on the Senior bulletin board located outside the Guidance office. Listed are dates and times the University or College will be in the building. Please ask Mrs. Sharp in the guidance office for a college pass to attend these sessions!

On Monday, November 24th Jostens will be in the building for meetings with all graduates to discuss ordering caps and gowns and any graduation extras you might like. The meetings will be 2nd and 5th hours and you will be called out of class when to attend.

Seniors: If you need help with college applications, essays, getting the FAFSA completed or other topics related to college, get help at a free workshop at Lincoln Library, Tonight from 6:00 to 8:00 in the Carnegie Room North. Pick up an informational flyer in Guidance.

SENIORS: If you are looking for scholarships, check out the SHS website under Guidance and click on scholarships. Every scholarship that comes to the school will be listed as we receive them. See if you are a qualifier for any of them and get your applications from Mr. Lawson or Mrs. Povse.

All 9th graders will continue to take the Explore Test today and Friday. When told to report to the commons please bring 2 sharpened pencils. No mechanical pencils.

Interested in going to the most historical inauguration of all time? The Springfield Urban League and the Boys & Girls Club invite you to Inauguration 2009! Come explore Washington DC and see our 44th President Barack Obama sworn in. Information packets are available in the Guidance Office and the Main Office.

There will be an Environmental Club meeting in Ms. Vander Leest's room Monday after school. Everyone is welcome.

Hey hey, JSA, we're back to meeting again! When: Today after school Where: Mr Lightfoot's room What: DEBATE! Debating still new to you? Unsure of how it works or what to say? Come today! We will debate a top issue and get everyone in on the action. If you are attending Fall State, this meeting is mandatory, and you should come by Mr. Lightfoot's room to get a copy of the Fall State debate list. Remember- JSAAA Toooooday.

All Cross Country Athletes need to turn in equipment to Coach Devlin this week and pick up banquet form.

Attention Prevention Club will be having a meeting Today after school in the cafeteria. New members are welcome to attend. The meeting will be brief and we'll talk about our events for the rest of the year.

What? Popeye's Chicken Today! Get 3 pieces of fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and a biscuit all for only $5! What a deal! To clarify, it is regular fried chicken, not chicken strips like in the past. Also, extra biscuits will be 50 cents each.

The word for this week is inimical an adjective meaning "harmful or injurious." Here are some examples of how this word is used:
"Everyone knows the two politicians dislike each other, but we were shocked to see the inimical gaze that passed between them when they met on the floor of the Senate."
"Wade's steady diet of burgers and fries is inimical to his goal of losing ten pounds."
