Morning Announcements for Friday, September 26
Attention Attention Juniors and Seniors! The following schools are scheduled to visit: - Monday at 9:00 Eastern Illinois University, and Tuesday Lunch LLLC. Don't forget that passes are not required for lunch visits but you must have a pass from the guidance office up to the day before to attend the college sessions! Calendar and posters are on the Senior bulletin board, located by the Guidance office door, will have date and time the university or college will be in the building. Please ask Mrs. Sharp in the Guidance office for a college pass to attend these sessions!
All College Applications, which include a stamped, addressed envelope, and possibly a secondary school report, and a paper copy of the common application should go to Mr. Lawson. Once accepted to college, students should stop by the Guidance office to record the schools that accepted them.
The Elks Club Scholarship is available from Mr. Lawson.
Attention Spanish Club members: The last day to order club t-shirts is today. Sign up in room 260 today!
Operation Smile will hold an informational meeting today after school in room 336. We will discuss officer elections and planning this year's fundraising events.
Attention, Attention, Attention! The Freshmen Class will be selling pictures that were taken during Spirit Week. You may purchase a 4 x 6 print for $1, a 5 x 7 print for $3 or an 8 x 10 print for $6. The pictures are located on beautifully laminated posters across from the main office. You may place an order for pictures after school in room 370. Payment is expected at time of order.
There will be a short meeting after school today in the cafeteria to pick up your forms for Best Buddies.
The SITE Club will be meeting today after school in room 216. Please see Ms. Fox if you have any questions.
There will be an Environmental Club meeting in Ms. Vander Leest's room after school on Monday. Everyone is welcome.
There will be a Math Club meeting Monday at 3:20 PM in Mrs. Pence's room 210. The meeting will only last 15 minutes, so please be prompt!
There will be a chess team meeting on Monday and Thursday next week. We will be discussing chess notation, special chess moves, and play several matches. All members are highly recommended to attend at least one of the meetings. Coach Szabo says see you Monday!
In Boys Golf last night, Robby Hill and Matt Ruff combined to shoot a five under par 31 in the scramble, but alas, that was the only event the Senators won last night at Lincoln Greens. Springfield High will now have to wait another 364 days to bring home the cup. Tomorrow, the Senators will compete in the County Tournament at Lincoln Greens starting at 11:00.
The word for this week is kinetic, If you listen carefully, you will hear it used around you in the classroom. Your teacher may ask you to use it in a sentence. You may also hear it used in the media or at work. Listen up and learn-be word wise!
