Do Something Club: To all Do Something club members, our first meeting will be today to go over what we will do for the year. For all those that are interested in joining we will have a meeting at a later date.
Literature Club: Attention, Attention Literature Club will be holding it's 1st meeting tomorrow after school in Ms. Negele's room. This month the genre will be Fantasy. Come with your favorite fantasy novel in mind, since we will vote on which one to read. Be sure to come to Literature Club Wednesday, September 10, where lots of food and lots of fun are to be had!
There will be an Environmental club meeting Today in Ms. Vander Leest's room after school. Everyone is welcome.
Juniors and seniors who are interested in the following colleges: Duke, Georgetown, Harvard, Penn, or Stanford. Representatives from those schools will be in Springfield on Thursday, Sept. 25, 7:30 (suggested arrival at 7:15) at the Crowne Plaza to present information about admission to their schools. Attention Attention Juniors and Seniors! The following schools are scheduled to visit: - Today at 9 AM is Springfield College, tomorrow Vanderbilt, TN, and Thursday Washington U. Don't forget that passes are not required for lunch visits but you must have a pass from the guidance office up to the day before to attend the college sessions! Calendar and posters are on the Senior bulletin board, located by the Guidance office door, will have date and time the university or college will be in the building. Please ask Mrs. Sharp in the Guidance office for a college pass to attend these sessions!

Springfield High School Library will be participating in the National Endowment for the Arts BIG READ program. Springfield as a community will be reading Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451. Get your own free copy of Fahrenheit 451 from Mrs. Dahmane in the library. 30 copies are available.
Attention students: The Be A Senator Team needs your help! We are looking for a few students to serve as advisors. We need input regarding Reward Parties, SHS Lotto prizes and other rewards/incentives. You would need to be able to attend one meeting a month, after school, for about 15-20 minutes. If you are interested, please see Ms. Greco in room 256.
German Club is having its first informational meeting on Wednesday, September 10, right after school in room 262. We will discuss events and activities for this school year. We hope to see you there!
The deadline to sign up for Spanish Club is Friday, September 12th. Applications are available from the Spanish teachers and must be turned in to them with the $6 dues.

The Springfield High Volleyball team plays their 1st home game tonight! Freshmen at 5, JV at 6, and Varsity at 7 all versus Normal Community. See you there!
Attention all freshmen: Springfield High's annual "Pump Up Your Pride" event is scheduled for tomorrow evening at 7 PM in the gym. All freshmen are invited to attend this fun evening filled with prizes and SHS High Pride. Please make it a point to attend!
