Thanks to everyone who auditioned for this year's fall play, And Then There Were None. We were extremely impressed with the amount of talent we saw at auditions. The complete cast list is posted on the glass cases outside of the Main Office. Unfortunately, we were unable to take everyone, due to the size of the show. If you were not cast, please consider trying out for the SHS Spring Musical. Thanks everyone!
Trick or Treat Freshman!!! Actually, it’s Tardy or Treat for you! Since the first day of school, Freshman have had 268 tardies, which is way too many! We are challenging you to be tardy free for the whole month of October. If you can do it, you will be rewarded with a special treat on October 31st. So be prepared and plan ahead so you can be in class on time for every period.
Scholastic Bowl will hold practices on Mondays for Varsity players from 3:30-5, There will not be practice Tuesday, October 4.
Are you are a freshmen interested in becoming a doctor? The P4 physician preparatory pipeline program applications are due Friday, October 7. Applications are available in the guidance office.
Ninth and tenth grade students who took the PARCC test last spring will receive their results in literature class today.
Junior students who took the math portion of the PARCC test last spring will receive their results in math class today.

FRIDAY- Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville at 2:30. Sign up and get a pass in the Guidance office or with Mr. Kyes.
The soccer team defeated Lake Forest Academy 4-3 in penalty kicks. The Senators were led by Nate Chueng 1 goal and 2 assists, Logan Willard 1 goal, Alex Dickerson 1 goal and Kelby Phillips 1 assist. Nate Cheung, Logan Willard, Kelby Phillips and Luke Owsley covered their penalty kicks and Evan Wright made 2 saves to earn the victory. The JV team beat Chatham 4-0, SHG 4-1 and Quincy 2-1 to win the Jacksonville Tournament.
The cross country team competed in the Peoria Invite and Jacksonville Invite on Saturday. At Peoria the girls finished 10th out of 30 teams. Ella Kurmann was the top finisher for SHS. At the Jacksonville meet, Abbie Norris was the top finisher for SHS. At Peoria the boys team finished 7th out of 34 teams. Jackson Esela was the top finisher for SHS. At the Jacksonville meet, Andrew Edwards was the top finisher for SHS. Way to go!!!!
