Good morning Springfield High! Today is Thursday, October 6, 2016 where successful Senators follow the classroom and school wide expectations and allow for learning all throughout the building. Thank you for Being A Senator!

Attention seniors. Jostens will be here Wednesday, October 12th to go over cap and gown, announcements and other senior related gear. Also, additional graduation and other valuable information will be given. The meeting will be 1st hour on Wednesday.

The 2017 Capitoline Yearbook is now on sale for $60; in January, the cost will be $70. Make your payment in room 254 or through Student Fees. If you don’t have the full amount now, you can pay one half and the other when the book arrives in April.

If you want your baby picture in this year’s Capitoline Yearbook, bring it and $10 to Mrs. Eslahi in room 254.

GSA members: the next meeting is Tuesday in the conference room in 169 at 3:30.

Anyone interested in being a part of the SHS Speech & Acting Team, should meet in Room 150 at 3:30pm on Tuesday, October 11th.

Are you are a freshmen interested in becoming a doctor? The P4 physician preparatory pipeline program applications are due Friday, October 7. Applications are available in the guidance office.

Hey all you Senators who love supporting your sports teams, the first meeting of High Pride will be today immediately after school in the Library until 3:45pm. If you are in a fall sport and would like to join please see Ms. Troike in room 258.

Be A Senator will be selling hot, delicious Papa John’s Pizza for $2 per slice in the commons during both lunch shifts today. Pizza, pizza, pizza, Thursday, Thursday, Thursday.

College/University visits this week are as follows:
THURSDAY- Eastern Illinois University at 12:40, Webster University (St. Louis) at 1:35, Augustana College at 2:30 and
FRIDAY- Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville at 2:30. Sign up and get a pass in the Guidance office or with Mr. Kyes.

The SHS girls golf team finished 5th out of 8 teams at the IHSA regional tournament at Quail Meadows yesterday. Sofia Baptist, Kylie Fair, and Abi High all shot well enough to advance as individuals to the sectional tournament on Tuesday at Illini Country Club. Great job ladies.
