Good morning Springfield High! Today is Friday, October 7, 2016 where successful Senators follow the classroom and school wide expectations and allow for learning all throughout the building. Thank you for Being A Senator!

Attention seniors. Jostens will be here Wednesday, October 12th to go over cap and gown, announcements and other senior related gear. Also, additional graduation and other valuable information will be given. The meeting will be 1st hour on Wednesday.

The 2017 Capitoline Yearbook is now on sale for $60; in January, the cost will be $70. Make your payment in room 254 or through Student Fees. If you don’t have the full amount now, you can pay one half and the other when the book arrives in April.

If you want your baby picture in this year’s Capitoline Yearbook, bring it and $10 to Mrs. Eslahi in room 254.

GSA members: the next meeting is Tuesday in the conference room in 169 at 3:30.

Anyone interested in being a part of the SHS Speech & Acting Team, should meet in Room 150 at 3:30pm on Tuesday, October 11th.

Are you are a freshmen interested in becoming a doctor? The P4 physician preparatory pipeline program applications are due TODAY, October 7. Applications are available in the guidance office.

Hey all you Senators who love supporting your sports teams, the first meeting of High Pride will be today immediately after school in the Library until 3:45pm. If you are in a fall sport and would like to join please see Ms. Troike in room 258.

If you are interested in joining or learning about Robotics Club, please come to the informational meeting on Tuesday, October 11th in the commons. Robotics is a group from all three high schools that does different types of robot building and robotics. Learn more at the meeting.

College/University visits this week are as follows:
TODAY- Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville at 2:30. Sign up and get a pass in the Guidance office or with Mr. Kyes.

The boys soccer team remained undefeated in the CS8 with a 6-1victory over Rochester. The Senators were led by Kelby Phillips 3 goals 2 assists and Nate Cheung 1 goal 2 assists. Max Thuma and Casmire Amane each added a goal, while Luke Owsley and Mark Patninvo had assists. The Sophomore team earned a 3-0 victory over Rochester.
