If you didn’t make the trip to Decatur last Friday you missed one heck of a football game. Your varsity Senators took on the #8 team in 6A and came up a 2 point conversion short of pulling off the upset and fell 41-42. Despite the loss there were some amazing individual performances. Overall Player of the Game Caleb Small gained 165 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns on offense and came in and played solid defense the 2nd half. Offensive Player of the Game Cam Jones electrified the crowd with a 57 yard touchdown in the 4th quarter to pull the team within 7 points. Defensive Player of the Game was Roy Gully and Special Teams Player of the Game was QaRon Hawkins. The team has another tall task on Friday as they have to knock off #1 ranked SHG to keep their playoff hopes alive. They won’t be able to do it alone so make sure you come out and support the team and show them who has the most school spirit.
