Good morning Springfield High! Today is Wednesday, October 19, 2016 where successful Senators follow the classroom and school wide expectations and allow for learning all throughout the building. Thank you for Being A Senator!

Diversity Club will meet after school in Ms. Smoot’s room, room 160 on Thursday, October 20th. Everyone is welcome so bring your friends.

Attention: All 10th graders, make sure that you have turned your permit receipt into Ms. Dvorak in room 128 if you have not done so already. This MUST be done before you can take behind the wheel. Thank you!

Seniors - if you need a recommendation letter for a job, for a college application, for a scholarship, it is very important that you give the person writing the recommendation a resume or a list of your accomplishments. Please see Ms. Greco with questions.

The following colleges and organizations will be visiting SHS this week- Please see Mrs. Kontio or Ms. Hurley in the guidance office or Mr. Kyes in room 153A for a pass. TODAY-Knox College during 6th Hour, THURSDAY Cornell College during 5th Hour, FRIDAY College Field trip to SEMO- field trip forms due Wednesday to Mr. Kyes.

There will be a meeting for all boys interested in joining the boys swimming and diving team on Wednesday, November 2 at 7 PM in the cafeteria. Parents need to attend also. If you have questions, please call Head Coach, Mary Beth Stephens at 494-2613.

The first college field trip will be FRIDAY OCTOBER 21 to SEMO (Southeast Missouri State University). There is limited availability- the first 30 seniors to sign up will attend. Grades, attendance, and behavior will be considered. Please see Mr. Kyes for a permission slip by Thursday!

If you would like to be a part of the SHS Speech & Acting Team, please sign up in the guidance office today and attend our meeting on Wednesday, October 19 at 2:30pm in the commons. See Mrs. Williams if you have questions.

Achtung Achtung German Club! We will be showing the German movie „Rammbock: Berlin Undead“ in room 250 this Thursday, October 20. Please find the permission form on the German Club calendar online and turn it in prior to watching this movie. Snacks and drinks will be provided. Hope to see you there.

For those students interested in wrestling there will be a short meeting immediately after school Thursday, October 20th in the Library.

Conference Play for the Scholastic Bowl team begins November 1. Also, Team members are reminded that practices are on Monday and Thursday this week. Please return athletic forms to the office this week. Spirit Wear orders are due next Monday. Email or text Coach Teichman if you have questions!

Congratulations to the JV and Varsity Girls Swimming and Diving Teams for winning the City Meet last night. This is the their 6th year in a row as City Champs. In the JV Division, Healy Funderburg placed 1st in the 100 IM and Clare Anders 2nd. Hannah Rivera won the 50 free and Mary Yockey took 2nd. Chloe Jarmer took 1st in diving. Hannah Rivera took 1st in the 50 Fly. In the 100 free, Mary Yockey took 1st and Healy Funderburg took 2nd. Eva Mulder won the 50 back. Clare Anders won the 50 Breaststroke and Grace Anders placed 2nd. In the Varsity Division, Caitlin Tierney won the 200 Free and 100 Free. Haley Rivera won the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke. Alli Wilkey placed 2nd in the 50 free and 100 free. In diving, Stephanie Bilinsky placed 1st and Katie Bilinsky 2nd. Camryn Milling won the 100 fly and Peri Ehmen took 2nd in the 500 Free. Great job and congratulations again to the City Champs!
