Good morning Springfield High! Today is Wednesday, December 7, 2016 where successful Senators follow the classroom and school wide expectations and allow for learning all throughout the building. Thank you for Being A Senator!

The deadline for turning in baby pics and getting portraits done is extended until Christmas break. Bring your baby pic and $10 to room 254. Call Grussenmeyer “Class Act” Photography, 787-6688, to make an appointment for your sitting��”cost $18. Capitol Line Yearbook is now accepting Senior quotes, if you get your quote from the internet, you must give credit to the source. Give your quotes to Kashay Lee or Mrs. Eslahi Room 254. THEIR IS NO COST!!
The Capitoline Yearbook is still on sale at $60 a copy; if you cannot pay the full amount now, you can pay 1/2 and the rest later. In January, the cost will be $70 per copy.

Be A Senator is selling SHS shirts. Order forms are available in each of the offices or on the school website. Orders are due in Guidance TODAY.

There will be a Showchoir combo (band) rehearsal again on Tuesday December 13th from 7-8:30pm in the choir room. Please bring instruments and your music. There will be a performance on Wednesday, Dec 14th that we will be preparing for.

Students - The weather is getting colder and please remember that you may need a coat or extra layers. Dress accordingly! Stay warm. & Remember to put your coats in your locker, they are not to be worn in class.

Achtung German Club! Please pick up your new German Club T-Shirts! & If you are planning to attend our German Club Christmas Party this Saturday, please come to the meeting in room 250 right after school today, December 7. Hope to see you there.

Are you 16 years old and interested in being trained to become a lifeguard ? A lifeguard class is going to be offered at the downtown YMCA third quarter during zero hour. IF you are interested, stop by the guidance office to sign up.

We still have 40 students who took the PSAT in October that are eligible for your discount that have yet to pick it up. Please stop by the main office during passing periods to get your cash, the last day to do this will be Friday! For questions see Ms. Smith or Mr. Barnes in the attendance office.

The boys soccer team will have a meeting Thursday after school in room 404. A meeting for all girls interested in playing soccer this year will be held Monday Dec 12 after school in room 404.

The Boys swimming and diving team continued their dominance yesterday at Bloomington High School, winning 9 of the 12 events! Impressive efforts were seen by Jerry Freetly in winning the 100 breast, and Michael Patton in the 100 back, who came from behind to win. Next up the Peoria Notre Dame invitational and a triangular with Jacksonville and Lincoln!

The Lady Senator basketball team jumped out to a quick lead and beat Quincy Notre Dame 80 to 27. SHS had four players in double figures with Ozzy Erewele, Abby Ratsch, Raina Gully, and Montshianna Pulliam sharing the honors. Next up for SHS is a home game tomorrow night against Lanphier.
