Good morning Springfield High! Today is Friday, December 16, 2016 where successful Senators follow the classroom and school wide expectations and allow for learning all throughout the building. Thank you for Being A Senator!

Come get your SHS Spirit ware this Saturday between 9 and noon in the Annex. Spirit ware makes great holiday presents for the family.

Clubs and Organizations’ pictures will be taken on January 12.

Seniors- Please make sure you complete your 4-year college applications by Dec. 31 and have your transcripts sent, this is all up to you!! Also- please make sure you complete your FAFSA as soon as possible!! Please see Mr. Kyes for questions or help!

Attention Juniors — Any Junior interested in the CEO program for 2017-18 Senior year, please sign up for a presentation to be given in January in guidance 104. The sign-up will be out until 12/21 /16 —

The Solon's Photo/Video Club is having a short informational meeting this today right after school in Room 316.

Any student who will be taking the ACT soon, there is a free Online Prep Live test prep event today at 8pm. If you are interested in getting the link for this event, please email Ms. Greco at tgreco@sps186.org and she will send the link.

2nd Quarter Be a Senator Acknowledgement will be Friday, December 16th at lunch. All Students in all grades who have had NO Tardies, NO Referrals, and NO Unexcused absences from October 24-December 9th may come to the Commons during lunch on FRIDAY, December 16th and get a delicious Mel-o-Cream donut!!! Check the lists posted outside Guidance, in the Cafeteria and in the Commons to see if you qualified, and come to the Commons Friday to get your donut for Being a Senator!

The winner of the canned food drive for the 9th grade AVID class is Mrs. Thompson! Way to go and thanks for all the peas! Please see Mrs. Kaisner for your reward.

Are you 16 years old and interested in being trained to become a lifeguard? A lifeguard class is going to be offered at the downtown YMCA third quarter during zero hour. IF you are interested, stop by the guidance office to sign up.

The Joe Bee Memorial wrestling tournament will be this Saturday. Please come out and support your team! For all students who are interested in helping at the tournament Coach Berger is having a short meeting in the library immediately following school today.

The SHS hockey squad looks to face the school down the street (SHG) this Friday at the nelson center. Let’s pack the house in your most festive Christmas-wear. Come ready to be rowdy!

The time has come to announce the 2017 SHS Musical. This year’s announcement will be made online on December 16th at Noon. Anyone who wants to know what AMAZING production SHS will be staging this year should go to SHSmusical.wordpress.com and watch the video that will be posted there at Noon on Friday. Information about getting audition music BEFORE leaving for winter break, AND audition sign-up information will also be included in Friday’s announcement.

The Lady Senator basketball team beat Jacksonville last night. Raina Gully scored her 1000th point and everyone scored at least 6 points. Next up us a game Saturday against Eisenhower.
