Good morning Springfield High! Today is Wednesday, January 11, 2017 where successful Senators follow the classroom and school wide expectations and allow for learning all throughout the building. Thank you for Being A Senator!

FREE T-SHIRTS FOR BLOOD DONORS!! Staff & Students 16 or older can donate blood to the Central Illinois Community Blood Center on Tue., January 17, 8:30am-2 pm, in the LIBRARY. Students aged 16 must have a signed parental consent form. You must sign up during lunch-in the Commons, and before school or after school-in the Guidance Office by 3:30 pm on Friday, January 13. Please sign-up ASAP because once the form is filled, you will not be able to sign up. Teachers & Staff do not need to sign up, you can report to the LIBRARY at your convenience. Blood donations SAVE LIVES! Any questions-please see Mr. Williams.

Before break, the 1st hour foreign language students received a free drink/slushy coupon from Sonic for being on time to class. So make sure you are on time every day because your class may be next!

Due to scheduling conflict, Chick Fil A will now be sold NEXT Thursday. Delicious sandwiches will be $5 a piece on January 19th.

CITY SPIRIT DAYS ARE HERE! STARTING ON TUESDAY, January 17 as we do not have school on the 16th.
Tuesday: twin/group day, Wednesday: Jersey/Sports Team day, Thursday: Music day, Friday: America/camo day
We hope to see everyone in the spirit of city next week!

The following colleges will be visiting SHS this week: Thursday: 1. Paul Mitchell School of Cosmetology during both lunch shifts. 2. Vincennes University during 5th Hour. SENIORS- Many college scholarships are NOW available. Please see Mr. Kyes for details. Don’t miss out on FREE money for college!!

Be A Senator will be selling hot, delicious Papa John's pizza for $2 per large slice on Thursday in the commons during both lunch shifts. Pizza, pizza, pizza, Thursday, Thursday, Thursday!

Hey Class of 2020- yes, that’s you freshmen! T-shirts, sweatshirts and sweatpants are ready… just for you! Order forms and money for your freshmen class spirit wear are due to Mrs. Taft in room 356 by January 11. If you need a form, you can get them from room 356.

Clubs, Groups and Organizations’ pictures will be taken on January 12, You will be called down when it’s your turn.
We will also have, Senior Photos for the Yearbook on Thursday: Boys, bring or wear a dress shirt ��“ Girls, we will have drapes available, this is for those seniors that have NOT had their photos taken already. Bring $18 sitting fee and report to the auditorium stage. You will be called down when it’s your turn.

Attention all boys interested in competing for the 2017 boys track and field team. There is a mandatory informational meeting on Tuesday January 17th in the commons right after school. The meeting should only last 10-15 minutes. If you are not in a winter sport you MUST attend. See Coach Cotner with any questions.

There will be a Girl’s Track and Field meeting on Thurs., Jan. 12th, everyone not currently participating in a extra-curricular activity should be at this meeting. If you are unable to attend see coach Bunch, the meeting will be in room 326 after school. Remember meeting Thurs. Jan. 12th after school in room 326.

Tonight the wrestlers face Peoria H.S. Come out to support your Senators Wrestling Team.

Robotics team will be building the robot starting this week, Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday , from 3:45 to 5:30, at Lanphier High School in room 124

The SHS Scarlet LIne Dance Team competed in their first regional competition of the season at Edwardsville High School this past Saturday. The Scarlet Line took 1st place in AA HIp Hop and qualified for State. Senior member Lexi Bergschneider competed in the solo category and took 3rd place out of 16 soloists and qualified for State. Congratulations Scarlet Line. Thank you for your outstanding representation of Springfield High School.
