Good morning Springfield High! Today is Thursday, January 19, 2017 where successful Senators follow the classroom and school wide expectations and allow for learning all throughout the building. Thank you for Being A Senator!

Freshman interested in filling in for our vacant Vice President position need to see Mr. Kramer in room 326 by next Wednesday. All interested students must pick up an application, complete the application, and return it to Mr. Kramer by Friday January 20th. Elections will be held during lunch on Monday January 23rd.

What’s better than our school spirit and City Tourney?

CITY SPIRIT DAYS ARE HERE! STARTING ON TODAY, January 17.
Today, Thursday: Music day, Friday: America/camo day
We hope to see everyone in the spirit of city this week!

City tournament tickets are being sold at a discounted rate in the main office between class periods until 1:00pm.

Scholastic Bowl: all team members need to be here by 8am on Saturday. We will meet in the library. Please ask your friends if they want to help keep score. Everything should be done around 5. There is practice today for the tournament team only. That is posted in VanderLeest's classroom. There will be a short practice Friday to set up classrooms after school.

SENIORS- Many college scholarships are NOW available. Please see Mr. Kyes for details. Don’t miss out on FREE money for college!!

Auditions for the spring musical, Ragtime, will be held on Monday, January 23rd in the auditorium beginning at 3:30pm with callbacks beginning at 8:00pm. You must sign up for a time slot online at shsmusical.wordpress.com. Also, you may pick up audition music online or in the choir room beginning today! Finally, please mark your calendars for the mandatory cast and parent meeting on January 26th in the auditorium beginning at 7:00pm.

Achtung Achtung potential GAPP students! It’s time for the next step in the application process ��“ the interviews. Please see Herrn Koeppel in room 250 to pick up your GAPP interview packet and check on the GAPP bulletin board when your appointment is.

Any freshman or sophomore interested in taking the PSAT 10 on Tuesday, February 28, should bring $15 to the guidance office to sign up by Thursday, January 26. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Smith or Mr. Barnes.

Are you interested in possibly earning 2 college credits through Lincoln Land Community College ? LLCC is offering a college success skills workshop every Tuesday evening from February 6 - May 11 at the Boys and Girls Club on South 15th Street. Pick up a flyer in the guidance office if you want to sign up.

The Lady Senator basketball team lost to Rochester 63 to 45. SHS was led in scoring by Raina Gully with 18 points and Ozzy Erewele added 10. Next up for SHS is a game at Decatur MacArthur tonight.
