Good morning Springfield High! Today is Thursday, March 30, 2017 where successful Senators follow the classroom and school wide expectations and allow for learning all throughout the building. Thank you for Being A Senator!

 Attention Seniors!  Please remember to turn in your permission form for the Senior Service Day to be held on April 5th.  Forms must be signed by your parent/guardian and turned into the guidance office no later than 4:00 on April 3rd for the absence to be considered as an Activity.  See Ms. Greco with any questions.

Bake Sale in the commons today for In Sesson.

 Attention All City Choir Participants: There is rehearsal today. Pleasegrab your music and report to the Auditorium after 1st Hour. We leave forSoutheast High School at 9:30am.

Put on your dancing shoes and head to “Swing into Spring” Friday night in the SHS Commons.  Swing dance lessons will begin at 6:00.  The SHS Jazz Bands will be playing some great tunes from 6:30 to 9:30.  Admission free and concessions will be sold.  We’d love to see you there.

Seniors who are planning to attend Lincoln Land Community College in the fall- there is a field trip planned for you to take your placement tests, complete the new student orientation, and meet with an academic advisor. The field trip is Thursday April 27. Please see Mr. Kyes for a permission slip and details.

Attention Juniors: The Board of Education is now accepting applications for the 2017-2018 Student Board of Education Member. Applications and additional information can be found on the Springfield High School Guidance Center’s webpage or by speaking with your guidance dean. The deadline to apply is 4:30 p.m. on April 7.

All students who have not had behind the wheel and have completed classroom drivers ed, need to make sure you have turned in your permit receipt and paid your $100.00 This is the only way you can take Behind the Wheel. If you have questions please stop by Room128 on your lunch hour.

Applications are being accepted for the 2017-2018 Student Board of Education member through April 7, 2017. The position is open to current Springfield Public School juniors that will be seniors during the 2017-2018 school year. This year, applicants are required to submit their application electronically. A link to the application and more information regarding the position can be found on the district website. 

Want to brush up on your skills, especially Math, for the SAT? We have just the setting for you:  Today and next Tuesday after school, Room 160 (Ms. Smoot’s room) for up to an hour in Tutoring, you can get a little extra brush-up before the SAT Wednesday April 5. We can review the questions you practiced on March 15, or whatever type for which you think you could use a little last-minute boost. Come tap this GREAT resource!!! The time is near for the class of 2018’s prom fundraiser. TEN Dollars (per person) is all you need to get a ticket for the awesome Olive Garden pasta bar, salad and of course breadsticks. The event is Friday March 31st form 5-7 in the cafeteria. Eat in or carry out. Or take it to the commons and enjoy your dinner while also enjoying Swing Into Spring! Tickets available here in the guidance office from Mrs Kontio or any Class of 2018 officer. No one wants to cook on Friday’s, let us start your weekend off right!
