 Good morning Springfield High! Today is Monday, April 17, 2017 where successful Senators follow the classroom and school wide expectations and allow for learning all throughout the building. Thank you for Being A Senator!

Seniors who are planning to attend Lincoln Land Community College in the fall- there is a field trip planned for you to take your placement tests, complete the new student orientation, and meet with an academic advisor. The field trip is Thursday April 27. Please see Mr. Kyes for a permission slip and details.

Juniors- we will be taking a field trip to Western Illinois University on Tuesday, April 25. Please see Mr. Kyes for a field trip permission form. Seating is limited, so first come first serve

Do you want a chance to win Ice Cream for a year? The class of 2019 will be starting their annual Baskin Robbins fundraiser. To have a chance to win, enter your name in the drawing buy buying a $1 ticket. To purchase or if you have any questions, talk to any class officer, Ms. Moseley in room 368 or Ms. Hopper in 112.

“Teachers……Please submit fourth quarter progress reports before midnight tonight.    Students will receive their progress report in fifth hour Wednesday, April 19.”

Juniors- we will be taking a field trip to Western Illinois University on Tuesday, April 25. Please see Mr. Kyes for a field trip permission form. Seating is limited, so first come first served!

Students - if you need a tux or formal wear for Prom, pick up a coupon card in the main office for Savvy Formal Wear.  It’s a $50 discount if you use the coupon.

Guest forms for Prom are available in the guidance office. Please be sure to have them properly filled out and signed and bring them with you along with your ID’s. Guests are required to show ID at the door as well. No exceptions

Mission India t-shirts are in!! Pick up your order today in the commons during either lunch shift! Thanks for supporting a great cause and see Rekha or Mr. Kyes with any questions.

SHS cheerleading tryouts begin this week! Clinics for freshmen and sophomores will be held on Tuesday, April 18th and Thursday, April 20th. Clinics for juniors and seniors will be held on Monday, April 17th and Wednesday, April 19th. Please attend the appropriate clinics, based on the grade that you will be in NEXT  school year. 

A review clinic will be held for all classes on Friday, April 21st. Tryouts will be hosted on Saturday, April 22nd starting at 9am. Tryout forms can be found on the district 186 SHS cheer webpage. We look forward to seeing you there! 

"Students in biology 134 and biology 135 classes will take the ISA Illinois Science Assessment during biology class Tuesday, April 18.  Please bring headphones.”

“Making the grade is Thursday, April 20 from 1-3 p.m. in the SHS commons.  Participating students will receive a pass to attend.”

The baseball team split their four games over spring break, defeating Eisenhower and Auburn, but losing twice to Rochester. Austin Alderman led the offense with 7 hits that included 4 triples. Next up for the Senators this week is MacArthur in a 4:30 contest tomorrow at Chamberlain Park.

Students and Staff - If you’d like to purchase a Senator baseball shirt or sweatshirt, the order form is in the main office or you can email Mrs. Alderman at salderm@mac.com . Get a new shirt and support our baseball team!
