Do you need help with tutoring in your AP classes? Then you can get help in the After-School Tutoring Program in Room 160 on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Thursdays from 3:30-4:30 PM.

Attention seniors: If you plan on attending Lincoln Land Community College in the fall and want to attend their Regular Prep Day on April 24th please see Mrs. Lauer this week! The event is for students who have already applied to LLCC. There, students will attend a new student orientation, take placement tests (if necessary), schedule a future appointment with an academic advisor, tour the campus, etc. Please see Mrs. Lauer in the post secondary office if you’re interested in attending!
Juniors or Seniors: If you are interested in attending any of the military academies, then you want to attend Service Academy Night, held Tuesday, April 24th at 7:00 pm at the Springfield Air National Guard, 183rd Wing, 3101 J. Do you have what it takes to be a SHS cheerleader? Tryouts will take place tomorrow beginning at 12:00 pm. All interested candidates are required to be present on tryout day. Prom is almost here! Take a walk through our Enchanted Forrest prom at the Bank of Springfield Center on April 28th! Please bring your student ID to the venue. Tickets will be sold April 16th through April 27th in the Commons. Couples are $35 and singles are $25. Senior court voting will take place on the April 17th and 18th. Hope to see you there!
Attention all Springfield High School students who are currently a Freshman, Sophomore, or Junior. There is a trip planned to Europe in the summer of 2019 for 14 days. We will visit the countries of Germany, France, and Spain. Due to an overwhelming response to this trip, we have filled up one bus and have decided to try and open up another bus due to the interest in this trip. There are currently 7 people signed up on a waiting list to get on the next bus, and there are only 12 spots remaining to students on a first come first serve basis. Don’t miss the bus on this great opportunity, because they will go fast. If you are interested, please see Mr. Telger in room 312 for information about the trip.
Springfield High School proudly presents Footloose: The Musical on Friday, April 20, Saturday, April 21, and Sunday April 22. Friday and Saturday evening performances begin at 7:30 PM and the Sunday matinee begins at 2 PM, all in Springfield High School Schnirring Auditorium. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens. Tickets will be available at the door and advance tickets are available in the SHS office or by calling 525-3100.
Extra, extra, read all about it!! The newspaper class is accepting applications for next year. If you are interested in writing, doing interviews, taking pictures and laying out, pick up your application from Ms Negele in room 362. They must be returned by April 25th. You cannot be a part of the newspaper family without applying and being accepted.

The Lady Senator softball team beat Lincoln 3-2 in thrilling fashion last night! Up 3-0 in the last inning, the girls relayed a throw from the outfield to get the last out of the game at home plate to prevent the tying run. Great job Ladies!
The Springfield High School Varsity Boys Tennis Team beat Sacred Heart-Griffin 6-3 yesterday at Washington Park. Raj Sinha, Shaul Latif, Matu Kristos, David Jiang, Eric Martin and Zeke Cross posted impressive victories in singles competition. The doubles teams of Matu Kristos/David Jiang, Eric Martin/Brian Becker and David Ye/Zeke Cross played close, hard fought matches. Junior varsity members Alex Millard, Vedant Amin, Mostafa Massoud, Ethan Sommer, Jatin Dhamrait, Adrian Russo, Joel Ryan, Keegan Goswami, Judah Schleyhan, Carter Formea and Alfred Hofman played a series of singles and doubles matches and came away with three exhibition match wins and an overall strong showing.
The girls varsity soccer team defeated Quincy High School 6-1 last night . Maria Jorquera scored 3 goals to lead the Senators. Sarah Wagner, Sophie Eves and Sophia Kell also scored. Kalynn Clearwater had a strong game in goal, while Morgan Gill added 3 assists. Great game ladies!!!
