Good morning Springfield High! Today is Wednesday September 5, 2018.

Ninth grade students who are interested in applying for the P4 physicians preparatory pipeline program need to stop by the guidance office to pick the application information sheet.   The application deadline is September 25th.

Seniors-If you plan to be a December Graduate, please have a parent call or email Mr. WIlliams this week to set up an early graduation contract meeting.

Seniors and early graduates are required to have their official picture taken by Grussenmeyer’s Photography.  The photo must be taken by December 15, 2018.  Grussenmeyer’s is located at 41 Pinehurst drive, 787-6688 and requires a $15 sitting fee with no pressure to make additional purchases.  This year, we encourage all seniors to have their portrait taken at school.  Grussenmeyer’s will be at SHS for senior pictures on:

Wednesday, September 12th from 2:30 pm - 5:00 pm
Wednesday, September 19th from 2:30 pm - 5:00 pm
Friday, September 21st from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm (no school for students that day)
Friday, October 26th from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm (no school for students that day)

Seniors may also call Grussenmeyer’s at 787-6688 to arrange custom sittings or another time and date that works with their schedule.

Atención! All are welcome to join Spanish Club for as little as $5. Spanish Club members can enjoy fun activities like the back to school fiesta, watching movies in Spanish, the International Dinner, paintball, capture the flag, bowling, dinner at a Mexican restaurant, and more!  For information on joining, please see Señor Reichert, Señora Armstrong, or Señora Hopper.

The 2018-2019 Capitoline Yearbook is on sale now in room 254 at a cost of $60 each.  To order yours, bring your check, money order or cash to room 254.  In January, the cost for each will be $70.  Seniors the cost to put your baby picture in this year's yearbook is $10.  Bring your picture and the $10 fee to room 254.

Are you interested in learning about agriculture majors at Lincoln Land Community College?   Please sign up in the guidance office if you want to attend the agriculture career expo September 7th.

Any junior or senior interested in being a High School Student Poll Worker for election day, please see Mr. Kyes in the guidance office for an application. 

First Sign Club Meeting is after school on Monday, September 10th from 3:30-4:30.  If you are interested, please come and find out what Sign Club is all about.  All skill levels are welcome. Meet in Rm. 362

All juniors interested in taking the PSAT/NMSQT on Wednesday, October 10th, should bring $18 to the guidance office to sign up by Tuesday, September 11th.  If you have any questions, please see Ms. Smith or Mr. Barnes.

Pizza, Pizza, Pizza!! Thursday, Thursday, Thursday!! The Be A Senator Team will be selling hot, delicious Papa John's Pizza this Thursday during both lunch shifts in the Commons for only $2 per slice! Come and get it before its gone!

There’s no business like show business and we are calling all directors!  If you are interested in directing the fall play, pick up an application on the main office counter.  Theater experience is required and you must have a staff member who is willing to sponsor.  Applications are due by end of the day today.

Anyone not playing a fall sport and interested in playing boys basketball needs to pick up a fall schedule outside Coach Crum's room which is room 128.

The varsity football team has its first home game this Friday at home against Chatham who just knocked off SHG. Coach Gully would like to remind everyone that the homecoming football orders are due this Wednesday if you wish to purchase football gear. Orders can be found in room 124, the 2nd Floor Main Office, Coach Hebb’s room, or Ms. Negele’s room. 

Achtung Achtung German Club! Our Oktoberfest/Kick-off Party will be on Friday, September 14th. Please join us for a brief meeting in room 250 today right after school to learn more. Hope to see you there.

Attention! Attention! Are you interested in photography and or filmmaking? Then the SHS Photo Video Club is for you! Our goal is to create a creative community within Springfield high and showcase our talents. Some of the many things we do include:  Photo outings, movie making, workshops, spirit videos and having fun! Wanna join or just check us out? We'll be meeting in the commons right after school today. All are welcome, see you there!

Atención Spanish Club! If you are interested in attending the Spanish Club Kick-off Fiesta, please come to room 260 after school on Friday. We hope to see you there!

Any student interested in Scholastic Bowl should meet Coach Teichman in the Science wing on Thursday Sept 13 at 3:20 for first round tryouts. Contact Teichman if you cannot attend.  A parent meeting will be held on September 13 at 5:30 in the Library for Scholastic Bowl.

The boys soccer team stayed undefeated in the CS8 with a 3-0 victory over Glenwood. Ben Huston, Wolf Brethorst and Luke Owsley scored for the Senators. Collin Taylor recorded the shut out. The soccer team will host Southeast tonight at Lee Field 5 pm . 

Today is the final day to turn in football orders for gear in time for Homecoming. All orders need to be turned in by the end of school today and they should be back before Homecoming. Please give orders to Coach Gully in 124, Coach Hebb, or Ms. Negele. Do not turn in football orders to any office.
