Senior Photo Information - Seniors and early graduates are required to have their official picture taken by Grussenmeyer’s Photography. The photo must be taken by December 15, 2018. Grussenmeyer’s is located at 41 Pinehurst drive, 787-6688 and requires a $15 sitting fee with no pressure to make additional purchases. This year, we encourage all seniors to have their portrait taken at school. Grussenmeyer’s will be at SHS for senior pictures on Friday, October 26th from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm (no school for students that day) in the Auditorium. Seniors may also call Grussenmeyer’s at 787-6688 to arrange custom sittings or another time and date that works with their schedule.
HBCU (Historically Black College & University) & State Schools Fair will be held on Tuesday, October 16th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Union Baptist Church, 1405 E. Monroe. Students 8th grade and up welcome.
Picture Day is October 17th.

Seniors (SEEN-YARS) - remember your SAT? if you scored a 1090 or improved your score by at least 30 points, you are eligible for an off campus lunch fourth hour on Wednesday the 17th. You must pick up your form and get it signed by a parent this weekend as it is due Monday at 3:30!
Seniors (SEEN-yars) - pick up your senior service day permission form in the guidance office for October 24th. 9th, 10th, and 11th grade will be mock testing on the 24th. For seniors to have the day off of school, you must return the yellow, signed, parent permission slip by Monday, October 22nd at 3:30 p.m., no exceptions.
Art Club will meet Tuesday and Wednesday until 4:30 to carve pumpkins for the Carillon Spectacular. Please come with designs ready.
The Capitoline Yearbook staff will be in the Commons today to pass out Senior Superlative Voting Forms and 2017-2018 Capitoline Yearbook Spring Supplements that have in them prom and graduations photos. Come and pick up yours.
In America, the average age of human trafficking victims is 15 years old. Please join us on 10/20/2018 at the Springfield Capital building for the A21 Walk for Freedom. The walk will be from 10a-12. Registration is Free at A21.org or you can register the day of the walk. Donation of personal items which will help survivors at the local safe houses will be accepted at the walk. Please dress in all black. Channel 20 will be there, there will be a DJ and several booths. For more information please contract Skyler Wantland. Bodies are not commodities!
Shout Out to the first hour Social Studies classes for being on time to class! Every student was on time and received a free bag of chips from the Be A Senator. Be on time every day and your class could be next!!

Congratulations to the volleyball team for their Senior night win over Williamsville last night in a 3 sets. A special congratulations to seniors: Aly White, Elizabeth Barkley, Morgan Gill & Abby Ratsch.
Congratulations to the boys soccer team for winning a share of the conference title with a 2-1 victory over Jacksonville. Luke Owsley and Max Thuma scored for the the Senators. It took a complete team effort to win conference for the 8th straight season. Great job boys!!
