On Wednesday, October 24th, we will be Mock testing for the SAT:
Seniors will be out of the building and must hand in their signed yellow forms before the end of the day Monday the 22nd. Juniors will not attend CACC on Wednesday, October 24th. Seniors have the option of attending CACC on Wednesday, October 24th.
Juniors will take the Mock SAT and be allowed to leave school after testing - this will be around 1:00 p.m. Juniors may get lunch and may stay for the day if they choose. Juniors should bring a calculator and pencils.
Freshmen and Sophomores will take the Mock PSAT and are expected to stay at school until 2:17 p.m. dismissal. Freshmen and Sophomores should bring a calculator and pencils.

Senior Photo Information - Seniors and early graduates are required to have their official picture taken by Grussenmeyer’s Photography. The photo must be taken by December 15, 2018. Grussenmeyer’s is located at 41 Pinehurst drive, 787-6688 and requires a $15 sitting fee with no pressure to make additional purchases. This year, we encourage all seniors to have their portrait taken at school. Grussenmeyer’s will be at SHS for senior pictures on Friday, October 26th from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm (no school for students that day) in the Auditorium. Seniors may also call Grussenmeyer’s at 787-6688 to arrange custom sittings or another time and date that works with their schedule.
Yearbooks are now on sale at $60 a copy; in January, the cost is $70. Order yours now in room 254.
If you bought the 2017-2018 Capitoline Yearbook, come pick up your Spring Supplement in room 254.
Seniors (SEEN-yars) - pick up your senior service day permission form in the guidance office for October 24th. 9th, 10th, and 11th grade will be mock testing on the 24th. For seniors to have the day off of school, you must return the yellow, signed, parent permission slip by Monday, October 22nd at 3:30 p.m., no exceptions.
Art Club will meet today until 4:30 to carve pumpkins for the Carillon Spectacular. Please come with designs ready.
In America, the average age of human trafficking victims is 15 years old. Please join us Saturday at the Springfield Capital building for the A21 Walk for Freedom. The walk will be from 10a-12. Registration is Free at A21.org or you can register the day of the walk. Donation of personal items which will help survivors at the local safe houses will be accepted at the walk. Please dress in all black. Channel 20 will be there, there will be a DJ and several booths. For more information please contract Skyler Wantland. Bodies are not commodities!

Friday night’s football game is Senior Night and we would love a huge crowd to see these seniors possibly play their final home game of their illustrious careers.
The SHS Photo Video club will be meeting today right after school in the commons. ALL members are required to attend a quick 10-minute mandatory meeting and then we will continue writing. If you have any fees, Sign up sheets or T-Shirt money, this is a great opportunity to turn it in!

Congratulations to the volleyball team who won a hard fought victory over conference opponent, Jacksonville in 3 sets. The final score of set 3 was 27-25. The team finished with a 6-3 conference record. Great job lady Senators!
The girls swim team competed in the city swim meet last night against SHG and Southeast. Katie Bilinsky is CITY CHAMPION for diving with a score of 218.85. The 200 yard medley relay consisting of Kayleigh Minder, Alexandra Bradley, Healy Funderburg and Lili Tohme came in third place. Grace Anders, Lili Tohme, Maddie Oxczarzak, Alexandra Bradley, Brookelynn Kosek, Lara Faeseler and Delaynee O’Brian swam the 50 yard freestyle with many personal records set in that event! Healy Funderburg and Rhiannon Roberts swam the 100 yard butterfly and both set new personal records, with Funderburg placing third overall. Kayleigh Minder placed and Lili Tohme placed third and fourth respectively in the 100 yard freestyle. Healy Funderburg is CITY CHAMPION in the 500 yard freestyle by a margin of 28 seconds and set a new personal and season record!! The 200 yard relay consisting of Healy Funderburg, Lili Tohme, Rhiannon Roberts and Grace Anders placed third. In the 200 yard breaststroke, Alexandra Bradley placed 2nd and Lara Faeseler placed third. The 400 relay consisting of Rhiannon Roberts, Maddie Owxczarzak, Kayleigh Minder and Grace Anders took third overall. The girls compete again at the conference meet at Eisenhower on Oct 27th!

The boys soccer team advanced to the Rochester Regional championship with a 5-1 victory. Noah DeAssuncao, Luke Owsley, Wolf Brethorst and Aidan McParland scored for the Senators. The senators are now 20-5-1 this season.
