Good morning Springfield High! Today is Wednesday, December 12, 2018

SEEN-YARS:  exemption sign off papers are in guidance - pick one up and get teacher and parent signatures if you are eligible.  The completed form is due in the guidance office at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.  No exceptions to the turn in date. Remember, you must maintain eligibility up through the final exam - this includes all criteria required of grades, attendance and behavior.

The Capitoline Yearbook is on sale now at $60 a copy.  Bring your check, money order or cash to room 254.  In January, the cost is $70 a copy.

Seniors - Baby pics should be turned in by winter break, and senior portraits should be done by winter break.  Grussenmeyer will be at SHS Wednesday from 2:30-5:00 in the cafeteria and on Wednesday, January 2nd from 9:00-3:00 in the cafeteria to take senior portraits or you can call Grussenmeyer Photography at 787-6688 to set up a time to take senior portraits.

If you have not already done so, pick up your student id's in room 254.

Are you a junior or senior interested in enrolling in a solar panel class second semester?  Sign up in the guidance office.  

Feminist Club meeting will be held in Ms. Moon’s room, 364, after school tomorrow.  All are welcome!

Hey Springfield High students! Are you looking for an easy SHS gift for the Holidays? See Mrs Troike, Mrs Eaton, Mrs Johnson or any of the class of 2019 officers to get a phone wallet or car magnet! $5 a piece!

Pick up a DVD order form to get your copy of the Fall Play, Ask Any Girl.  The forms are available in the Main Office, from Mrs. Eaton in Rm 366 or Mrs. Gerdes in Rm 363. The deadline for placing an order is end of day today.  The cost of the DVD is $10 each.  This would make a great stocking stuffer!

Mrs. Bitner in room 156 is looking for old Springfield High School shirts for a sewing project for her Introduction classes.  They can have holes, paint or defects. 

The holidays will be here soon, you have an opportunity to buy friends and faculty a candy cane gram. Candy cane grams will be on sale during both lunch shifts in the commons today through Friday. The cost is $1 per gram. Stop to buy some candy & support your SHS cheerleaders! 

Are you interested in business and learning how to invest in the stock market? The Springfield Legacy Investment Club is meeting tonight right after school from 2:30-3:30. Anyone is welcome! Snacks will be provided! We will let you know the room number on Monday.

Attention Superintendent’s Student Roundtable members: A Unity Day planning meeting will be held today beginning at 3:00 p.m. at the Bank of Springfield Center in downtown Springfield. We will meet in the lobby of the facility and go together as a group to the meeting space where Unity Day will be held. If you will be late arriving, please contact Ms. Hammers via the Remind app. 

Art Club will meet tomorrow until 4:30 in room 320.

All are invited to join GSA in holiday cookie decorating tomorrow after school in Mrs. Eaton’s room. We dare you to name something that is not better with sprinkles.

The SHS choir concert is tomorrow night at 7:00 pm in the auditorium. Cookies and poinsettias will be sold during the concert! 

The Lady Senator basketball team jumped out to a commanding lead and beat Decatur Eisenhower 70 to 26. SHS was led by Abby Ratsch with 16 points, Kaleah Toran added 13 and Maya Fetter chipped in 11. Next up for SHS is a home game tomorrow against Jacksonville.

Members of the academic challenge need to stop by room 510 and check the list outside the door to make sure their names are spelled correctly and they are signed up for the correct subjects. Also sign up for the academic challenge Remind group.
