Students parking lot checks have started. You may be towed if you are in violation. Remember if you are towed the tow bill will be your responsibility. Make sure that your parking permit is in the lower left hand corner of the front.
Capitoline Yearbooks are still on sale at $70 a copy. If you don't have the full amount, you can pay a portion to secure a yearbook for you. Make your check or money order out to Springfield High School or bring your cash to room 254.
On Wednesday, March 6th from 5:00-7:30 come to Springfield High Commons and get a take out Olive Garden dinner. Ticket costs are $10 each and are available in Main Office or you may call or text (217) 652-2545. Ticket includes salad, choice of pasta, sauce and choice of meat. All proceeds benefit Springfield High School after prom.
Attention sophomores: Mrs. Lauer will be taking up to 36 students on a field trip to Lincoln Land Community College on March 12th from 12-2pm to attend the ROCTE Career Day Event. Students will attend a Career Expo for trade professions. If you have signed up for CACC for the 2019-2020 school year, this would be an ideal opportunity for you to attend. The first 36 to sign up in the guidance office will be eligible to attend, pending all passing grades. Any questions, see Mrs. Lauer.
The Senator football team will be taking pre orders for Krispy Kreme donuts for Friday morning.. Mr. Graham will have the order form in his room #266. $10 for a box of 12 sweet treats. Plan ahead and order some for yourself, your club or your favorite teacher.....today!
Be A Senator will be sponsoring a Chick Fil-A Night Thursday night from 4:30-7:30 at the White Oaks Chick Fil-A location. Please see a Be A Senator team member or Mr. Kyes for a paper flyer or a digital flyer. The money raised will go towards the SHLotto redemption cart and Quarterly Acknowledgments! Tryouts for the 2019-2020 SHS Cheerleading squads are approaching. Tryout packets can be picked up in the main office, from Coach Jacobs, or from Coach Johnson in room 168. The tryout process will begin with a mandatory tryout meeting Tuesday, March 12th at 5:30pm in the SHS Commons. This is a MANDATORY informational meeting for parents and candidates that will provide all the details of the 2019-2020 season. All candidates and parents are required to attend. FREE T-SHIRTS FOR BLOOD DONORS!! Staff & Students 16 or older can donate blood to the Central Illinois Community Blood Center on Tue., Mar 12, 8:30am-2 pm, in the Bloodmobile (to be accessed thru the Commons). Students aged 16 must have a signed parental consent form. You must sign up during lunch-in the Commons, and before school or after school-in the Guidance Office by 3:30 pm on Fri., Mar. 8. Please sign-up ASAP because once the form is filled, you will not be able to sign up. Teachers & Staff do not need to sign up, you can report to the Bloodmobile at your convenience.
