Highlights included two hits apiece from Adam Passmore and Rico Johnson, with Johnson adding a double. Zach Richmond added a clutch 2 out, 2 strike, 2 run single to key the come from behind effort, but it wasn't enough to back up an outstanding relief effort by Aaron Evans who threw 2 and a third scoreless innings of relief. Next up for the 5 and 3 Solons is a doubleheader in Peoria Saturday against Notre Dame.
The softball team took Rochester to the final out in a great game last night at UIS, losing 3-2. Freshman Mallory Vespa pitched a great game and had two hits to lead the way offensively. Maddie Cleary, Claire Bess, Malia Bender and Skyler Wantland also contributed offensively with hits.
