Junior Students - Are you interested in becoming a teacher? UIS is offering a Dual Credit teacher education class for Senior year. For more information, sign up in the Guidance Office or see Mr. Kyes ASAP. Sign-ups are on a first-come-first-served basis.

Parents and students - remember, 9th, 10th and 11th graders are testing on April 9th. All students are expected to bring their own calculator for the test.
Juniors - pick up your permission forms for April 9th in guidance. Juniors your yellow form is due by the end of today. See Mr. Kyes, Mr. Williams or Dr. Leardi with any questions.
Attention Juniors: The Board of Education invites interested current high school juniors to apply to become the 2019-2020 Student School Board Member. One junior will be chosen to serve during their senior year. Applications will be accepted until 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 12th and can be found on our school’s homepage. Please see Mr. Kyes or Mrs. Gordy if you are interested in applying.
Capitoline Yearbooks are still on sale at $70 a copy. If you don't have the full amount, you can pay a portion to secure a yearbook for you. Make your check or money order out to Springfield High School or bring your cash to room 254
The Investment club will meet in room 124 from 2:30-3:30 on Wednesday, April 10th.
There will be no sign club on Monday, April 8th.
Any girls interested in playing volleyball next year, there will be an information meeting and sign-up in the cafeteria on April 10th at 2:30 pm.

The SHS boys track team competed at a triangular meet in Chatham that was called for lightening and rain after only 3 events. Winners for SHS were: the 4x800 relay team of Ian Kaisner, Ben Kim, Jason Frazier and Oliver Rauscher; the 4x100 relay of Qa’Ron Hawkins, Roy Gully, Steven Boucher and Matthew Abe-Bell; and Anthony Peralta in the 3200. The boys next compete on Monday at the SHS Open. Field events begin at 3:00 pm, and Running at 4:00. Come out to Memorial Stadium and support the SHS boys track team!
The varsity soccer team defeated Champaign Central 5-0 last night. Morgan Gill, Emma Carrell, Cadence Brenham, Sophia Eves and Maria Jorquera scored for the Senators. Melanie McKeown recorded the shutout. The JV soccer team defeated Champaign Central 6-0. Great job ladies!!
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Illinois (BGCCIL) in partnership with the City of Springfield and the Sangamon County Juvenile Justice Council, is hosting its 4th annual Teen Job Fair and Resource Expo. The event will take place April 5th from 6pm to 8:30pm at The Boys & Girls Club’s Central Unit, located at 300 S. 15th Street. Job seekers can get help filling out job applications, may receive on the spot interviews, and have a chance to enter multiple prize drawings. The event features many local employers and youth service organizations. The job fair will also include free food and beverages. This event is free to attend and geared toward teenagers 16-19 who are seeking employment or volunteer opportunities. Parents are also welcome to accompany their teen participant.
