The SHS graduation is June 1, 5:00 p.m. at the BOS Center.  Please allow extra time and arrive early - parking, entry procedures and crowds may slow your arrival.  There will be NO ENTRY to the BOS Center 30 minutes after the beginning of each graduation ceremony.  Metal Detectors will be used to ensure the safety of all guests and graduates prior to entering the BOS Center for the graduation ceremony. Purses, bags and other personal items will be subject to search. No weapons of any kind including pocket knives and mace/pepper spray will be allowed in the BOS Center. The Springfield Police Department will be at the BOS Center to assist with this process.

Exam exemption forms are available in the guidance office.  They are due by 3:30  May 24.

Seniors if you have not turned in the green exit survey to Mr Kramer please do so ASAP. Be sure to include any scholarships you received on the back, even from schools you will not be attending. Also be sure to do a little pennant for the map and Mr. Kramer will get one up on your locker.

The class of 2022 will be hosting a Panera Fundraising night on Wednesday, the 22 from 4-8 pm on West White Oaks Avenue. It’ll be a great way to study for finals, eat delicious food, and support our class. In order for us to receive a potion of the proceeds, be sure to present a form from the class officers or an image of one at the register. Don’t forget to stop by!!

The SHS boys track and field team placed 5th at the Bloomington Sectional last night. State qualifiers for SHS were: Robert Williams in the 300 Hurdles and 110 Hurdles; Qa’Ron Hawkins in the triple jump; and the 4x400 relay team of Matthew Abe-Bell, Ryan Waldinger, Will Formea and Robert Williams. Qa’Rons jump in the triple jump earned him the sectional title a well as a new school record, better a record that had stood since 1989! Congrats boys!

The Senator softball team wrapped up the regular season with a road win at Taylorville, 5-2. Skyler Wantland and Grace Vespa led the way offensively going 2 for 4. Mackenzie Devlin helped break a tie game in the 4th inning with a big RBI and Maggie Beauman extended the lead in the 7th with an RBI single. Maddie Cleary notched the pitching win giving up 3 hits and striking out 7. The girls finished the regular season with 18 wins and will play in the Rochester Regional starting next Wednesday.

If you were unable to attend the drama club meeting yesterday and are interested in participating please pick up an info packet in the main office and return to room 366.

Would you please now rise for the Pledge of Allegiance!

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, Indivisible with liberty and justice for all.
