The baseball team enjoyed a good weekend despite seeing their 6 game winning streak end against Edwardsville Saturday in a 12 to 2 loss. The Solons swept a doubleheader from Limestone Friday night by the scores of 9 to 2 and 7 to 6. Will Reiser led the way with 4 hits in game 1 while also picking up the win on the mound allowing only 2 runs while striking out 6. Aaron Evans and Rico Johnson each added 3 hits including a double to the cause in game 1, while Jack Zerfas and Brayden Schmohe paced the scoring in game 2 with 2 hits apiece. Blake Pettys threw key relief innings in both games and Drew Borland picked up his varsity win on the hill by throwing a scoreless 7th inning. Adam Passmore delivered the walk-off 2 run double to ensure the sweep. Next up is SH-G in regional play Wednesday at 4 at UIS.
