The SHS graduation is June 1, 5:00 p.m. at the BOS Center. Please allow extra time and arrive early - parking, entry procedures and crowds may slow your arrival. There will be NO ENTRY to the BOS Center 30 minutes after the beginning of each graduation ceremony. Metal Detectors will be used to ensure the safety of all guests and graduates prior to entering the BOS Center for the graduation ceremony. Purses, bags and other personal items will be subject to search. No weapons of any kind including pocket knives and mace/pepper spray will be allowed in the BOS Center. The Springfield Police Department will be at the BOS Center to assist with this process.
Exam exemption forms are available in the guidance office. They are due by 3:30 Friday.
Yearbooks are in. Bring your i.d. and pick yours up in room 254. Capitoline Yearbooks are still on sale at $70 a copy. Make your check or money order out to Springfield High School or bring your cash to room 254.
Anyone interested in cross country next fall there will be a short meeting after school tomorrow in the commons. If you are out for a spring sport and cannot attend, please see Coach Devlin.
The class of 2022 will be hosting a Panera Fundraising night on Wednesday from 4-8 pm on West White Oaks Avenue. It’ll be a great way to study for finals, eat delicious food, and support our class. In order for us to receive a potion of the proceeds, be sure to present a form from the class officers or an image of one at the register. Don’t forget to stop by!!
If you were unable to attend the drama club meeting yesterday and are interested in participating please pick up an info packet in the main office and return to room 366.
There will be a GSA meeting Thursday after school in Mrs Eaton’s room 366.
Congratulations to the Springfield High School Boys Tennis Team on their Sectional Championship this weekend at Rochester. Eric Martin/Raj Sinha placed first at doubles while Brian Becker/David Jiang placed fourth. Zeke Cross placed fourth at singles and all five players qualified for State, which will be played later this week. Great job by everyone!
After School Tutoring will be Monday, Tuesday, & Thursday this week. Thursday, 5/23 will be the last day for after school tutoring for the year.
The girls IHSA state track meet was this past weekend and Lauren Ferguson finished 8th in the 3A 300m hurdles. Congrats to Lauren and thanks to all the seniors for a great season!
The baseball team enjoyed a good weekend despite seeing their 6 game winning streak end against Edwardsville Saturday in a 12 to 2 loss. The Solons swept a doubleheader from Limestone Friday night by the scores of 9 to 2 and 7 to 6. Will Reiser led the way with 4 hits in game 1 while also picking up the win on the mound allowing only 2 runs while striking out 6. Aaron Evans and Rico Johnson each added 3 hits including a double to the cause in game 1, while Jack Zerfas and Brayden Schmohe paced the scoring in game 2 with 2 hits apiece. Blake Pettys threw key relief innings in both games and Drew Borland picked up his varsity win on the hill by throwing a scoreless 7th inning. Adam Passmore delivered the walk-off 2 run double to ensure the sweep. Next up is SH-G in regional play Wednesday at 4 at UIS.
Congratulations to the girls soccer team on their Regional Championship. They will play in the Sectionals tomorrow at 7pm at Rochester.
Attention Mamma Mia! Cast. The DVDs need to be picked up by the end of the week. Come see Schop in room 216 or 220 before the end of second period.
