Seven SHS students will be performing in Springfield Ballet Company's upcoming performance of The Nutcracker at the UIS Performing Arts Center.  This is our 45th annual production of The Nutcracker, a grand holiday tradition featuring colorful costumes, exquisite dancing, and beautiful music.  The production features a cast of 141, including Company dancers, local actors, young dancers from the community and professional guest artists.  Shows are at 2 pm and 7 pm on Saturday and again at 2 pm on Sunday.

Students don’t forget to check with your teacher to see if you owe any lab fees.  If you do please make the payments in the main office before or after school only.

Attention Juniors: Applications for next year’s Sangamon County CEO program are now open. Go to www.sangamonceo.com to apply. Any questions, see Mrs. Lauer in guidance, deadline for applications is April 15th!

SHS is having a penny war! Another competition between the classes.  Listen up! People are going to walk around the commons and cafeteria with buckets - one for 9th grade, one for 10th, one for 11th and one for 12th.  To score points for your grade, you need to bring as many pennies as possible to put in your grade’s bucket.  And then you also want to bring silver change and paper bills so that you can sabotage another grade.  So say I’m a senior and and I want to sabotage the freshmen, so I’m going to put a dollar bill into the freshmen bucket. This dollar bill will cancel out 100 pennies in the freshmen bucket and subtract away from their score.  So a nickel or a dime or a quarter or even a $10 bill can take away from the freshmen score.  So bring your pennies and other change to see who the best class in the school is! There’s going to be a prize.  All money collected goes to charity.

GSA will be decorating holiday cookies today after school in Mrs. Eaton’s room. All are welcome.

City t-shirt order forms are coming soon, keep listening to the announcements for where and when to get them when they’re ready. The prices are $25 for all 3 shirts, or $5 for the red shirt only.
