Attention all freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors! The window to buy class merchandise is almost up, go to primodesigns.net/SHS_class before the 24th to get your class apparel!” Short sleeve shirts are $15 and long sleeve are $20. Check it out, get a shirt to support your class! Go Senators!

After School Tutoring is available from 3:30-4:30 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.   Students can access tutoring by clicking on the Academic Center located in Canvas.

Boosters are selling Nelson's chicken dinner and meatless lasagna dinners.  To purchase these click on the banner on Springfield High School’s webpage.  The last day to order is tomorrow.  Dinner pick-up will be on January 27th from 4:30-6:30 in the drive through in the Commons parking lot.

Students, if you would like to connect with your peers and share common experiences, please attend one of our Support Groups. They will be offered again this semester on Monday afternoons. Please visit SHS Student Support on Canvas to sign up or click on the link on the SHS home page. 

District 186 and the African American History Museum will be hosting their yearly Black History Month trivia contest in late January. If you are interested on representing SHS on their team, please see Mr. Kramer in 153A or email him at bkramer@sps186.org

Superintendent’s Student Roundtable members are having the 5th Annual Unity Day January 23rd from 2-3:30pm!  They hold Unity Day each January and they have planned an interactive zoom for students to connect, play and breakdown walls.  Join them for fun and activities with high school students from across Springfield area. There will be a Poetry Out Loud meeting today at 2:30. Contact Mrs. Eaton for info either in room 366 or via email.

Seniors - sign up to apply for a Country Financial scholarship! You can sign up for many others at www.cfll.org - check it out and contact Mr. Kramer or Mrs. Lauer if you have any questions.

Yearbooks and personal yearbook ads are on sale now! Just go to www.yearbookforever.com to order yours.  We are creating a unique yearbook based on what you are doing outside and inside of school.  Thank you for all of your pet pics! Now can you send us some outdoor pics?  For example:  

Summer -vacations, poolside, hikes: Autumn -playing in the fall leaves, Halloween costumes; Winter -sledding, skating, skiing.  Please DM a clear photo  (with names) on Instagram.  Follow us at springfield_senators_yearbook  Thank you Senators!

The boys swim season will resume this Monday, January 25. Practice is at 5:30 am!!!  It’s not too late to join the team. Contact Coach Seiple if you have any questions.

Calling all would-be heroes and adventurers!  The SHS Dungeons & Dragons Club is currently recruiting!  There will be an informational Zoom meeting next Thursday at 3:30 for anyone interested.  Check out the D&D Club link on the SHS Library homepage, or talk to Mr. Havener (aka Conan the Librarian) to find out more!” 

Any boy or girl interested in trying out for the SHS basketball teams can sign up in the commons today during your lunch shift. Please see Ms. Smith in the commons on your lunch for the sign up sheet and any questions. You can also reach out to the girl’s head coach Mr. Scheffler in room 264 or the boy’s head coach Mr. Crum in room 228 with any questions on dates and times try-outs will be held. We will post those dates later in the week.
