The baseball team enjoyed another successful weekend by defeating Washington on Friday by an 11 to 1 score, and then knocking off New Berlin on Saturday 14 to nothing. The Senators ran their record for the season to 21 and 3 with the two wins. For the weekend, the Senators were led on offense by Luke Flesner, Ben Hartl, Dalen Banks, and Ryne Crum who contributed 3 hits apiece. Banks and Passmore each added homeruns, with Banks hitting a grand slam. The strong pitching was provided once again by the dynamic duo combo of Passmore and Joseph Crum, who allowed only one run between them for the 2 games. Next up is Senior Night tonight against Pleasant Plains at 4:30 at Robin Roberts Stadium.

The Springfield High School Boys Tennis Team lost two hard fought meets this weekend to Belleville East High School, 2-3, and O’Fallon Township High School, 4-5. Both meets hinged on several three-set matches. In singles, Noah Williams, David Lu, Brian Becker, David Jiang and Zeke Cross claimed victories while the doubles team of Brian Becker/David Jiang also was victorious. Everyone faced tough competition and played well.

Anyone interested in participating in volleyball this coming season, please check the volleyball website for the summer contact days. Summer activities begin June 8th.

And now the Pledge of Allegiance!

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all.
