The baseball team enjoyed another good night in defeating Eisenhower by an 18 to nothing score to finish in a tie for 2nd in the CS8 with U-High. Kaleb Rogers was the star of the show in throwing a 4 inning no-hitter while striking out 9 and walking only one of the 14 batters he faced. The offense was paced by an interesting trivia question likely not ever to be duplicated in that the Crum brothers Ryne and Joseph both hit 2 RBI inside-the-park homeruns in the same inning. The stars of the game were many, as Joey Klint, Efrain Rivera, Joseph Crum, and Jack Swaney all had 2 hits apiece, with Crum adding 3 RBI's. Next up, barring the rain in the forecast, is Rochester on Thursday at their place at 4:30.

The SHS boys and girls track and field teams competed against Eisenhower, Rochester and Greenview last night. Event champions for SHS were: Sarah Byrd in shot put and discus, Braden White in the 300 hurdles, James Harris in the 100, Sean Graves in the 110 Hurdles, Henry Kling in the triple jump, Sevyon Williams in the 200, the 4x100 and 4x200 relay team of Sevyon Williams, EJ Pruitt, Bryson Thomas and James Harris. The girls next compete at the Central state 8 conference meet tomorrow evening at Rochester, and the boys compete at the Central state 8 conference meet next week at Lanphier.

The Senator softball team finished their conference season with a win over Decatur Eisenhower last night. Malia Bender went 2 for 3 with a home run and 3 RBI's. Anna Borders also had multiple hits, including a double and 3 RBI's. Alaina Elberson pitched four perfect innings with 7 strikeouts, completing the perfect game. The girls are back at it tonight in a non-conference game AT SHG at 4:30PM. Come on out and watch a great game!

The Springfield High School Boys Tennis Team beat Urbana University Laboratory High School yesterday, winning 5-4. Noah Williams, David Lu, Brian Becker, David Jiang and Zeke Cross were victorious at singles. In Junior Varsity action, Peter Mokhoff and Bryce Pound won at singles while the teams of Grant Thompson/Reece Fullerton, Kai Brudnak/Sam Yoder, Joe Brudnak/Danny First, Canon Stearns/Clayton Kurmann, Tyke Espejo/JT First, Matthew Scott/Conrad Martin and Carter Lyddon/Luke Elston won at doubles. Everyone faced tough competition and played well.

And now the Pledge of Allegiance!

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all.
