REMINDER TO SENIOR GUYS: When you turn 18 you have 30 days to register with the Selective Service. It is easy and it is the law that you must register. Go to www.sss.gov - it takes just 2 minutes to register. You will not be eligible for federal loans or grants for college if you fail to register See Mrs. Povse in Guidance if you have questions.

Springfield Public Schools is inviting interested high school juniors to apply to become a Student School Board Member. The selected student will serve as the Student School Board Member for the 2010-2011 school year. More information is available in the main office.
Today through Friday sign your name on the Senior signature page in the yearbook. Sign in the front of the commons. Don’t miss out on the tradition to express yourself through your personal signature! When you sign, you can also check your name to make sure it is spelled correctly next to your senior picture. Don’t forget!
Wednesday, December 15th, is the LAST day to order your yearbook at the $50 price. Put it on layaway by then and lock-in the $50 price. Any book ordered after that will be $60. Come to Mrs. Barkmeier’s room, after school to order your book.
Attention German Club! Please join us for our last movie in room 250 tomorrow. We will be showing “Aguirre: The Wrath of God” Please see a German teacher for the permission form. Snacks and drinks will be provided.
Spanish Club members who sold cookie do’ should pick up their orders in the Commons after school tomorrow. If you can’t be there, make arrangements for someone else to pick up your order.
Spanish Club will be bowling after school Friday, December 10th. Members should get a permission slip from a Spanish teacher and return it by 3:30 PM Thursday. It’s free and it’s fun!

City Tournament t-shirts are on sale today during both lunch shifts in the commons. Come see the design & order your shirts! They will be on sale through finals next week.
Attention Freshman Class: Fundraiser Battery packets are due today. Your class officers will have a table set up in the commons to collect the packets today. Please make sure that all of the money is in the folder, with checks made out to SHS Class of 2014. If you sold more than three packs, we will notify you of the pizza date. Orders will be ready for pick-up on the week of December 13th-17th. Thanks for your effort and participation for our first fundraiser.

Attention Seniors: The second and final order for class sweatpants will be due Tuesday, December 14th by 3:30 PM. Order forms are in room 210 and must be turned in with your money to Mrs. Pence. If you missed the first order or would like another color, this is your LAST chance!
The Class of 2012 will be having a bake sale Friday in the commons during both lunch shifts. All proceeds will benefit the Mini O’Beirne Crisis Nursery. Please buy some delicious homemade baked goodies and help the Junior class purchase various items for the Mini O’Beirne Crisis Nursery.
SHS Boys Swim Team competed in a Dual Meet against Bloomington HS yesterday. The SHS Boys won the meet 107 to 72. SHS took first, second and third in the 100 fly with Jake Hamill finishing in a 1:00.58, Weston Stephens, in 1:00.94 and Jordan Troeger in a 1:02.61. Springfield took first and second in the 200 Free Relay. The first place team, consisting of Scott Krehbiel, Jake Hamill, Weston Stephens, and Brinton Wilkey, swam a 1:40.00. The second place team was Jimmy Moore, Onsi Kamel, Brady Burden, and John Mifflin. Springfield also took first and second in the 100 breaststroke, led by Bennett Stephens with a 1:12.32 and Tayt Niedernhofer with a 1:14.29. Timothy Miller won the 200 IM in a 2:13.46. Matt Woodson took first in 1 meter diving with a score of 203.15. Sean Maher placed third with a score of 131.25.
