Attention 10th graders: if you got your permit over the summer, please turn the receipt portion into Ms. Dvorak so you can take behind the wheel.
Spanish club applications are now available from the Spanish teachers. Your application, signed drug/alcohol policy and $7.00 fee are due no later than Friday, September 9th.

You must get a pass from Mrs. Povse or from the Guidance Office to be excused to hear these reps. Passes are not required for the LUNCH visits which take place in the Commons. SENIORS: On Sept. 8 during your English class period Mr. Williams and Mrs. Povse will meet with you to discuss college application procedures, college visit days, scholarships, financial aid, NCAA, important dates, etc.
JUNIORS: ON SEPT. 13 during your English class period Mr. Crum and Mrs. Povse will meet with you to discuss college search, college visits, college and military recruiter visits, testing, GPA, class rank, NCAA and much more.
Students who are interested in Notre Dame: A representative from Notre Dame will be doing regional presentations on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 7:00 at The High School of St. Thomas More, Champaign, Il and on Thursday, Sept. 8, 7:00 at Central Catholic High School, Bloomington, Il. See Mrs. Povse for exact addresses.
Any students who would like to be a member of this year’s Scholastic Bowl team; we will have a short meeting after school today in room 230 to discuss this years schedule and give other information. The meeting should last about 25 minutes. If you cannot attend the meeting, please see Mr. Adkins to get the information.
Nurse Kim is here every morning in room 106 if needed. Students cannot come during passing periods. Students must have a pass from their teacher.
Attention girl basketball players not involved in a fall sport: we will begin open gyms on Tuesday Sept. 6th after school. Any questions see Coach Scheffler.

The parking lottery has been drawn and posted on blue paper outside the main office on the glass cases.

If you like to talk or act, check out the SHS Speech & Acting Team! A speech team meeting for ONLY RETURNING members will be on Tuesday, Sept. 6th after school in room 362. There will be a meeting for NEW members interested in joining the team on Monday, Sept. 12 in room 362.
Anyone not in a fall sport interested in Boys basketball should come to an open gym next Wednesday after school in the upstairs gym. Questions? See Coach Reed.
The Varsity Soccer team will practice right after school. The JV Soccer will not have practice today. The next practice will be Tuesday.
Literature Club’s 1st meeting is Wednesday, the 7th in Ms. Negele’s room 362. Jump into Reading!
The SHS Volleyball team defeated Decatur MacArthur last night in 2 games. Leading in assists and aces was Morgan Ceja. Courtney Pence led with 10 kills and Kelsey Hulcher & Morgan Ceja each led with 7 service points. Come support the girls at our Saviors Lutheran tonight at 6 PM.
On behalf of the directorial staff, we thank everyone who came out for the fall play. The cast list will be posted around the school. We will let everyone know when our first rehearsal will be.
