You must get a pass from Mrs. Povse or from the Guidance Office to be excused to hear these reps. Passes are not required for the LUNCH visits which take place in the Commons. A complete list of the representative visits is posted in the glass case outside of Guidance as well as on the school website under the GUIDANCE link.

Yale University is coming to SHS: A representative from Yale University will come to SHS on Monday, Oct. 17 for an evening informational presentation from 7-8:30 in the auditorium. Mark your calendars.

Seniors: The Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE) scholarship essay contest is now open. Go to www.thefire.org/contests to enter. Deadline is Nov. 5.

Christian colleges will hold a college fair on October 11, 2011 from 6:30-8:30p.m. at Cornerstone Christian Academy

Scholarship opportunity for 9th through 12th grade: Formals of Litchfield is sponsoring a "design an original prom gown" contest. Get information at www.myformals.com or from Mrs. Povse. Deadline is October 22.

FREE T-SHIRTS FOR BLOOD DONORS!! Staff & Students 16 or older can donate blood to the Central Illinois Community Blood Center on Tue., Sep. 27, from 8:30am-2:30pm. Students aged 16 must have a signed parental consent form. You must sign up during lunch, before school, or after school in the Guidance Office by 3:30 pm on Monday, Sep. 26. Teachers & Staff do not need to sign up, you can report to the auditorium at your convenience. Please donate. Mrs. Fisher, in the Main Office, is LIVING Proof that blood donations SAVE LIVES! She received 3 units of blood through two life-saving transfusions! Any questions-please see Mr. Williams.

TOO GOOD A DEAL TO PASS UP! Purchase your tickets for a full Avanti's sandwich and or a full Avanti's loaf of bread through Friday, September 30, from a German class or German club student. Teachers and staff can purchase tickets from Robin Yoggerst unless a German student sells to you first. Delivery is Thursday, October 6, during both lunch shifts and after school til 4pm in the Commons. There will be a limited number of extra sandwiches and bread available for purchase during lunch shifts on October 6. Alert your friends, family, and colleagues! Students interested in attending the Capital Area Education College Fair to meet with representatives from numerous colleges need to pick up a permission slip in the guidance office. The permission form must be signed and returned to the guidance office by 8:30 on Tuesday, October 4th. On October 5th, College Representatives will be available at the Orr Building at the State Fairgrounds from 12:30-2:00. Students are responsible for their own transportation and must sign in upon arrival that day.

The Senior Panoramic picture will be tomorrow morning at 8:30. Seniors will report to 1st hour and then be called to the front of the building for the picture. Representatives will be available on Monday to purchase the panoramic.

Anime Club! We are meeting today 3:30 - 4:30 PM in the cafeteria. Everyone is welcome!

Seniors and Early Graduates! In homeroom you received information about getting your yearbook photo taken. Please call Class Act to schedule your appointment to make sure your picture is in the yearbook! Deadline is December 20th.

Students and staff: Purchase your 2011-12 Capitoline yearbook and/or happy ad in room 370 at lunch or after school! Books are $50.

The Senior Class will be having a garage sale this Saturday, September 24th from 7 AM - 1 PM. We will accept all donations except clothes, shoes, and stuffed animals. The garage sale will be at 1820 Wiggins. We need help! Anyone interested in working the garage sale please see Emma Trapp.

Hey SHS! The Ebony Gems Club is selling T-Shirts to raise money for breast cancer awareness at both lunch shifts Friday, and Monday. Please buy one to show your support for Breast Cancer and to let the world know that Real Senators Wear Pink!

Zabian Morris and Ben Harbison scored for the Senators in a 3 to 2 loss to Normal Community. The JV team lost 3 - 1 with Kaleb Cheung netting the goal.

Last night at Lincoln Greens, the Senators won 6 of their matches and tied the other two to beat SH-G 7 - 1, and bring home the Washington St. Cup. Congratulations to all 16 members of the golf team for the most dominating performace in the four year history of the Cup. Great job guys.
