You must get a pass from Mrs. Povse or from the Guidance Office to be excused to hear these reps. Passes are not required for the LUNCH visits which take place in the Commons. A complete list of the representative visits is posted in the glass case outside of Guidance as well as on the school website under the GUIDANCE link.

A representative from Making It Count will be making a financial aid presentation entitled Ultimate Money Skills, College Funding, to students and parents on Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 6:30 in the Commons. This will be an introduction to financial aid and the process. It is especially informative for first generation college families or those who are beginning the college process for the first time.
Scholarship opportunity for 9th through 12th grade: Formals of Litchfield is sponsoring a "design an original prom gown" contest. Get information at www.myformals.com or from Mrs. Povse. Deadline is October 22.

Students interested in attending the Capital Area Education College Fair to meet with representatives from numerous colleges need to pick up a permission slip in the guidance office. The permission form must be signed and returned to the guidance office by 8:30 on Tuesday, October 4th. On October 5th, College Representatives will be available at the Orr Building at the State Fairgrounds from 12:30-2:00. Students are responsible for their own transportation and must sign in upon arrival that day.
Seniors and Early Graduates! Last week in homeroom, you received information about getting your yearbook photo taken. Please call Class Act to schedule your appointment to make sure your picture is in the yearbook! Deadline is December 20th.
If you enjoy reading, great food, and prizes, then be sure to sign up for the Read for a Lifetime program. See Mrs. Dahmane in the SHS Library or your English teacher for details. Deadline to sign up is Friday, Oct. 14.
A 3G iphone with a black and pink otterbox was lost recently. If anyone has found one or knows of the location of this phone, please contact any administrator or security personnel. There is a reward for its safe return.
Attention Class of 2014: Your Class Officers are requesting your help. Do you have any design ideas for this year’s class shirt? If so, please draw them out and turn them into Miss Eggemeyer’s mailbox in the main office or to room 262 by Friday, October 7th. We will be voting on the best design the following week, so now is your chance to be creative and submit your ideas!
The first Fellowship of Christian Athletes meeting will be this Monday, October 3rd at 7 PM in room 266. The meeting is open to all students at SHS! Any questions see Coach Nesbit. The meeting will last an hour and a half. Hope to see you there!
The Girls swim team took on Glenwood, Lincoln and Southeast last night in a quad meet at Eisenhower Pool. SHS dominated the meet sweeping every event of the evening. Congratulations to Madison Milling, Natalie Knox, Annah Carney, Vlada Gudzenkyo, Megan Wilkey and Libby Opfer for their first place finishes last night. SHS swept all the relays as well! Big thanks to all the guys from the boys team who came out to time and help support the girls.
Yesterday at Piper Glen, the Boys golf team fell one shot shy of a first place tie with Jacksonville and SH-G, placing third in the CS-8 conference tournament. Freshman Sam Funderburg led the way for the Senators, firing an 81, good enough for fifth place individually. Great job Samantha. Mitchell Connolley had an 83, Michael Hamrick an 84, and Max Lister's 85 rounded out the scoring for Springfield.
The Varsity Soccer team improved to 15 and 3 with 1 - 0 victory over Rochester. Peter Bremhorst had the only goal and Andy Pedraza recorded the shut-out. The JV Soccer won 4 - 1.
The Girls golf team defeated Rochester while taking the loss to SHG. Becca Ramirez carded a 38 with medalist honors. Alax Floyd added a 42. Mackenzie McDermott shot a 47 and Kristin Cullen fired a 49. The girls improved their record to 15-5.
Way to GO SHS VOLLEYBALL TEAM! Beat SHG to keep the City Title! Thanks to all of our fans for showing such great support! Courtney Pence had 20 kills, Meghan Fetter had 8 and Emma Range with 6. Lindsey Buhnerkemper had 23 assists and Morgan Ceja had 12 service points. Courtney Pence with 10 and Kelsey Hulcher had 6. Great game ladies! Next match is at Chatham on Tuesday.
