Memorial Medical Center has a Teen Volunteer Program June 18-August 10. The program is limited to 20 students, juniors and seniors. Application, 2 letters of recommendation, a health questionnaire and brief essay are due before April 27. Interviews will be May 29- June 5. Mandatory Orientation is June 14 if you are selected. Applications are available from Mrs. Povse or Mr. Crum.

SENIORS: On the opening page of the SHS website you will find a SENIOR CALENDAR OF IMPORTANT DATES. Check this convenient listing for dates and times of upcoming senior events.

Packets for students interested in trying out for the Junior Varsity and Varsity Cheerleading squads for the 2012-2013 seasons are now available in the Main Office. There will be a mandatory tryout meeting tonight at 5:30pm in the SHS commons. Tryouts will be held April 16th-21st. Any questions contact Coach Povse in room 160.

Tryouts for the 2012-2013 SHS Poms will be held at Springfield High School the week of April 23rd - 27th. Clinics will begin around 4:00 p.m. and will dismiss at 6:00 p.m. Clinics are closed to spectators. Tryouts will be judged on Friday, April 27th. More specific details will be discussed on April 23rd with the team candidates. Application packets are now available on the Springfield High School website or in the SHS main office. Mark your calendars for Monday, April 16th and don’t forget to pick up a flyer from the office, from 4 - 10 PM on April 16th at Texas Roadhouse 10% of your food purchase will be donated back to SHS After-Prom committee. You must have a flyer for Texas Roadhouse to donate back to After-prom.

Newly inducted NHS members are to meet in Miss Hubbard's room today right after school for instructions on getting your service hours. The meeting will be very short but is mandatory.

Be A Senator will be selling slices of hot, delicious Papa John's pizza during both lunch shifts tomorrow for $2 per slice in the commons. Pizza, Pizza, Pizza, Thursday, Thursday, Thursday!!

Attention Seniors - Signed Permission Forms & $30 are due TOMORROW, Thursday April 12, for the Senior Trip to see the 7 & Senators singing the 7th inning stretch at the Cub/Cardinal game in St. Louis on May 15. The first 160 senior students who complete the following requirements will be allowed to attend the game. Requirements are: *Return completed permission form by Thursday, April 12, *Pay $30 for bus and ticket to the game, *Must have no more than 4 unexcused absences for the 2nd semester, no more than 4 referrals for the 2nd semester and no suspensions for the school year. Seniors can pick up applications and pay for their tickets during both lunch shifts on Today in the Commons.
Attention Class of 2012: Would you like to buy some class t-shirts, sweats or hoodies for the low price of $5? Extra merchandise can be found in room 363. Items include 2 grey sweats, 3 black hoodies, and 2 t-shirts. Contact Mrs. Mary Davis is room 363 or Emma Trapp if interested. Remember each item is only $5. Get yours while supplies last.

Spanish Club Members! We will be having a movie night after school this Thursday in Room 260. The movie is El norte. Refreshments will be served. See a Spanish teacher for a permission form.

Attention Juniors and Seniors! The Class of 2012 would like you to pick up your prom invitations on A or B lunch all through this week.

The fresh/soph Boys track team finished 3rd at the Solon Lion open last night. Event champions were: Tyler Owens in the 800, and Grant Luebkemann in the 1600. The varsity Boys track team finished 2nd at the Solon Lion open last night. Event Champions were: James Brown in the shot put, Sam Cross in the 800, Jason Kokkat in the 3200, and the 4x400 relay team of Will Butler, Joe Gough, Junious Matlock, and Jim Moore. The boys next compete on Friday at the Centralia Invite.

Hey hey JSA! We will have a short meeting in room 330 after school. All those who are interested in running for a JSA officer next year should attend.
The Girls Soccer team improved to 9-1-1 with a 2-1 victory over SHG. Bri Hickman and Anika Webster scored for the Senators. The JV team played to a 1-1 tie. Emily Willard scored for the Senators.
