Good morning Springfield High! Today is Friday, April 13 where successful Senators are productive; they participate in class, complete the work, and turn in the work. Thank you for Being A Senator!

Memorial Medical Center has a Teen Volunteer Program June 18-August 10. The program is limited to 20 students, juniors and seniors. Application, 2 letters of recommendation, a health questionnaire and brief essay are due before April 27. Interviews will be May 29- June 5. Mandatory Orientation is June 14 if you are selected. Applications are available from Mrs. Povse or Mr. Crum.

SENIORS: On the opening page of the SHS website you will find a SENIOR CALENDAR OF IMPORTANT DATES. Check this convenient listing for dates and times of upcoming senior events.

SENIORS: The Coordinating Council of Frontiers International is offering two $250 scholarships. Must show acceptance to college, show involvement in school and community activities and prepare a one-page narrative describing why you wish to be considered for the scholarship. See Mrs. Povse or Mr. Williams for application-which is due April 30.

Tryouts for the 2012-2013 SHS Poms will be held at Springfield High School the week of April 23rd - 27th. Clinics will begin around 4:00 p.m. and will dismiss at 6:00 p.m. Clinics are closed to spectators. Tryouts will be judged on Friday, April 27th. More specific details will be discussed on April 23rd with the team candidates. Application packets are now available on the Springfield High School website or in the SHS main office. Mark your calendars for Monday, April 16th and don’t forget to pick up a flyer from the office or download one from the SHS website, from 4 - 10 PM on April 16th at Texas Roadhouse 10% of your food purchase will be donated back to SHS After-Prom committee. You must have a flyer for Texas Roadhouse to donate back to After-prom.

Attention Seniors - We need 40 more eligible seniors with Signed Permission Forms & $30 turned in by B lunch today for the Senior Trip to see the 7 & Senators singing the 7th inning stretch at the Cub/Cardinal game in St. Louis on May 15 otherwise only 1-52 will go on the trip with the remaining list on stand-by. Requirements are: *Return completed permission form TODAY, *Pay $30 for bus and ticket to the game, *Must have no more than 4 unexcused absences for the 2nd semester, no more than 4 referrals for the 2nd semester and no suspensions for the school year. Seniors can pick up applications and pay for their tickets during both lunch shifts on Today in the Commons.

Attention Juniors and Seniors! The Class of 2012 would like you to pick up your prom invitations on A or B lunch.

All NHS members are to have their finished service hours and projects turned in to Ms. Hubbard or Ms. Elmore by Friday April 13, UNLESS you have received PRIOR permission to turn in it later.

Be A Senator is selling SHS I Am A Senator shirts. Order forms can be found on the SHS website. Orders and payment must be received by April 30th in room 169 or in Ms. Greco's mailbox in the main office.

Attention ALL students interested in playing Football next season, there will be a quick informative fundraising meeting Monday, April 16th immediately after school in the weight room. See Mr. Shiffman with questions.
