NHS seniors, time is running out to purchase your Golden Laurel Banquet tickets for your family and friends. See Mrs. Fisher in the main office, or Mrs. Hubbard and Ms. Elmore to purchase your tickets by May 2. They are $12 each. Remember, that NHS members do NOT have to buy a ticket, you attend for free!

B-DUBS wants to know if you can take the heat?!?!! They are bringing a Street Team to SHS After Prom to host Wings Eating Contests. There will be 5 different games with 8 contestants each. Along with the pride of being crowned champion, there will be PRIZES awarded to the winners for each game. Don't miss this chance to impress your date with your mad skills! Sign ups will be in the Commons over lunch on May 8 & 9. Please note that if you are under 18, a permission waiver will need to be signed by your parents and returned to the school office. So, we all want to know, WHO is the HOTTEST?!
Prom tickets go on sale tomorrow in the commons during lunch. $35 for a couple’s ticket, $25 for a single ticket, $30 at the door - single tickets only.

SHS Schnirring Auditorium is being transformed into New York City for the fabulous production of “Thoroughly Modern Millie”. Performance dates are May 4th and 5th at 7:30 p.m. and May 6th at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are available in the SHS main office— $5 for students and $8 for adults. You won’t want to miss this amazing musical, which features over fifty talented Springfield High School students. Get your tickets today! It was also the year the Yankees lost the World Series to the NY Giants AND the last year before they moved into Yankee Stadium, which opened in 1923.
The Boy's track and field team placed 5th out of 18 teams at the Mount Prospect Wanner Knights Invitational on Friday Night. Top placers for SHS were: James Torgerson placed 3rd in the shot put, Dalton Timm placed 3rd in the 400, Decarlos Pool placed 2nd in the High Jump, The 4x400 relay team of Alex Halloway, Peter Bremhorst, Dalton Timm, and Malik Harrison placed 3rd, and Malik Harrison won the 100 and the 400. The boy's next compete at the city track and field meet Tuesday night at Lanphier High School. Field events begin at 4:30, with running events to start at 5:30. Come out and support the Springfield Boys Track and Field team as they shoot for their 4th straight city title!
The Lady Senators Track and Field team finished 4th at the Urbana Invitational Friday Night. Finishing first for the Lady Senators were the 4 x 800 team of Ellie Hamill, Christina Kropid, Christy Rolf, and Kirby Hale, Maggie Cornelius in the 1600. The 4 x 400 team of Hale, Kropid, Sarah Sepanski, and Miriam Agamah finished 2nd. Brianna Wilkins was 3rd in the triple jump. Finishing 4th were Deonna Macklin in the high hurdles, Lindsey Teeter in the 300 low hurdles, and the 4 x 200 team of Micheala Pattie, Macklin, April Shaw, and Sepanski.
The Girls Varsity Soccer team improved to 14-4-1 with a 4-1 victory over Metamora. Julia Rosen, Olivia Rosen, and Bri Hickman scored for the Senators. The J.V. team improved to 10-1-2 with a 1-0 victory over Metamora. Mel Bremhorst scored for the Senators and Alyssa Jackson earned the shut-out.
