Attention students & teachers: The SHS Do Something Club is hosting a Toy Drive for needy kids. SHS families in need will get first dibs at picking a toy, and remaining toys will be donated to Contact Ministries. No need to wrap the gift. Just choose & label the gift as boy or girl, and the age from zero to 15 years old. No Weapons or Violent Toys Accepted. Deadline to drop off a gift in the Main Office & Guidance Office is Tues, Dec 11.

Football Awards Dinner will be held Sunday December 9th from 4-6:30 in the SHS Commons for Freshmen through Varsity football players and guests. If you finished the season in good standing on the team stop by Coach Luke's office to grab a form. You must have all equipment as well as participation fees turned in to be able to attend. It's the season of giving! Help student council give to a needy elementary school! We will be having a book drive all of this week. Bring in any children's books you have to donate. We will have boxes in the annex and commons where you can drop off your books before and after school and during lunch in the commons! Please join us in helping this school in need!
Eight SHS students - Lauren Bascio, Jaclyn Conway, Lesley McLafferty, Genie Melamed, Page Nagel, Caragan Phillips, Emily Standley and Briley Tanner will be performing in Springfield Ballet Company's 38th annual performance of The Nutcracker at Sangamon Auditorium. Calling all Holiday shoppers..........come to the 2nd annual Holiday Spirit Wear sale on Saturday, December 8th from 9-noon in the SHS annex! Sweatshirts, sweatpants, t-shirts, hats, scarves, alumni shirts, drawstring bags and so much more. We will even have free gift wrapping! Can't wait to see you there!
There will be an indoor tailgate on Friday, Dec. 7 before the basketball game versus Lanphier. Come get chili, funnel cakes, puppy chow, hot dogs, popcorn, etc… before the game. The tailgate begins at 4:30. Come early to get good seats for the game.
T-shirts for the City Tournament will go on sale beginning Thursday, Dec. 6. The set of 3 shirts will be sold during each lunch shift in the Commons through Dec. 19. The cost is again only $25 for the packet of 3 shirts. No extra shirts will be ordered so get your shirts now.
Parents of students in any of the SHS choirs are invited to attend the parent vocal music board (Noteables) meeting on Thursday, Dec. 6 at 6pm in the band room at SHS. Fundraisers, Winter Concert and other upcoming events will be discussed. All parents are encouraged to attend this meeting.
Seniors - Jostens will be back for a final in-school visit to receive your graduation orders. All orders must be turned into Jostens by Friday, December 14th. Jostens will be set up in the Commons before school only from 7:30am-8:20am. Extra ordering information is available in the guidance.

The SHS Boys Swimming and Diving Team was well represented on Saturday at the Macomb Swim Invite and Cyclone Diving Invite. SHS finished 3rd in Macomb with the medley relay team of Jake Hamill, Timothy Miller, Tayt Niedernhofer and Brinton Wilkey placing 3rd. Brinton placed 2nd in the 50 and 100 frees. Jake placed 3rd in the 100 Fly and 2nd in the 100 back. The 400 Free Relay team of Weston Stephens, Ryan Aguirre, Tayt and Jake also placed 3rd. And in the Diving meet, Freshman Atticus Teichman placed 2nd.
